Carribean Beach Resort building designation

I am getting ready to make reservations here for the end of June. We were here once but over 16 years ago. I am trying to place us convenient to food, main pool, playground, beach and smaller "island" pool. If I go with a "preferred" room at additional cost, am I guaranteed to be automatically placed in the closer Martinique or Trinidad North "islands"? If I choose to save money and go with a "standard" room, how do I designate my "island" preference(s) and is there any way to assure they will respect my wishes rather than just stick me wherever they please? I will be traveling with my 8 year old grandson and any suggestions would be most welcome -- on any topic concerning the parks and resort. We chose to return to CBR because of the new pool, which I am sure my grandson will love. Also, I see they offer a Bass fishing trip on the lake. I am assuming no fishing liscense would be required for this outing? Thanks, in advance, for any responses,

Welcome to the DIS. If you pay for a preferred location at CBR it would be in Martinique or Trinidad North. If you want a standard location I would request Jamaica or Aruba. You should call reservations and have the requests noted. You might want to take a look at the CBR FAQ in my signature.

Hi, Was hoping you would reply to me. I tried that link but it does crazy things on my computer. It appears to continuously scroll. I am trying to use up my AAdvantage frequent flier miles and will have to book this through their AAvacation travel agent. I was wondering if this will allow me to designate which "standard" room "island" I get assigned.

If they don't let you make a room request you can always do it when you check in.
