We are planning a trip to Disney this summer and will be staying at the CBR. Does anyone have feedback on which buildings/ areas are the best? We are looking for a newly remodeled or updated areas with some privacy....we do not mind a bit of a walk to get to where we need to go.

Thanks in advance -

This information is from the CBR site. I have provided the link to the web site below.;)

Preferred locations;
Martinique it will be buildings 24, 25, 26. In Trinidad North it will be 31,32,33. The additional charge will be $15 per night.

You can find more information here at the CBR Site.

Welcome to the DIS. You will find lots of great information on the FAQ thread. If you don't want to pay for a preferred location Jamaica or Aruba is popular with lots of people. It is a short walk across the bridge.

DW and I stayed at CBR a month ago (Jamaica) and disliked everything about it. Of course, the trip was (relatively) last minute and CBR was all we could find on site for our travel dates. Preface: DW and I travel a significant amount and are used to a certain level of accomodation and service, which we definitely did NOT encounter at CBR. Most notably, NO PPM or room service. In addition, in our opinion, the rooms were so spartan that we thought we were one step away from camping. Granted, we've never stayed at a "Moderate" Disney resort before and will never again. OK, we understand that value and moderates are geared towards families with small children, and given that assumption, the room accomodations were probably appropriate. However, for us it was an unfortunate lesson learned. Good luck with your decision.

We just stayed in Aruba in December, and the walk was not a big deal at all. Very nice.....Back in 2002 my husband and I were in Trinidad South before we had childern, and that walk was a hike! They tried to put us there again, and I kindly asked if we could not have that village, and they put us in Aruba. We were steps from the beach looking over the lake to Old Port Royale. Very nice...if we do stay here in the future, we will ask for this section or Jamaica..

Hope this helps!

We stayed in Jamaica last May and loved it! The buildings were bright and colorful and it was a treat to walk across the bridge every morning and enjoy the landscaping before breakfast! Plus it's close to all the action without being a preferred location.

We went for the first time to Disney World last May 2007. I chose CBR because I liked the Caribbean theme. I thought it would be a nice break from the park action all day. We traveled with our chidlren ages 4 and 3. By the time I booked our trip, all of the preferred rooms were taken. I was worried because I read a lot of how big it was, and it is, and the walking with the litte one's. We put a request in anyway on our reservations for Jamica or Aruba. I never called or faxed or anything like that. The day we checked in, we got Jamaica 45. It was a great location. A short walk to Old Port Royale, a short walk to the bus stop. The buses were excellent. We never waited long for a bus. I just loved the whole place. We are going back in 23 day's but are staying at the CSR because DH wants to try a different resort and with the main pool at CBR closed, I thought I would try a different place. I hope CSR is as great of an experience as CBR was. You will love CBR. Enjoy:goodvibes
