Woke up at 4.30am....My body clock still on UK time!!. Just so pleased there was fans and air conditioning in the room as it was very warm even at that time. Everyone was awake although I think that was due to excitement. I went and had a long soak in the bath with the Mickey Mouse bubble bath that was provided. After soaking for 40 mins I realised it had gone quiet and the boys had nodded back off. Desperate for coffee Dougy and I set about working out how to use the coffee perculator...between us we did it and sat with a strong coffee in the couryard at dawn...that was really nice and we promised to to it again before we left (but never did!!). It was lovely having the courtyard we were on the 1st floor but hardly had any neighbours and could look straight upto our room. After getting dressed we all went down for breakfast at 7.30. Sam couldnt wait for his first portion of Pancakes and Bacon followed by Oatmeal as this is what he ate every breakfast the year before!!...He was not disappointed and polished it off in no time. Tom had the same but Dougy and I just felt like some toast. I checked the price of the bread which was 80c a slice which I thought was quite expensive. I remembered I had seen sliced loafs of bread in the shop the night before so popped over and a huge loaf was $1.99 which I knew would last Dougy and I a week...it was fresh and in date for 10 days...so thats my first penny pinching tip..if you family eat alot of toast or bread buy the loaf and take it down to breakfast each day!!
After brekkie we decided to take a look around CBR. Its beautiful with lovely views and very clean!!. I know on this board there is alot of talk of which 'village' at CBR you should stay at and because Martinque is the closest I had requested it HOWEVER I think its way over hyped. All the villages are just walking distance to the main area and infact although we were in Martinque our buidling was the furthest Martinque building away and we could have easily stayed closer in another village. I loved the walk over the bridge to Jamica and Aruba and would probably ask to stay over there next time. We fed the ducks and fish but word of warning there are turtles and they can and will bite!!. They even chase you when you finish feeding!!. Whilst feeding the turtles (safely from the bridge) another guest confirmed someone had been bitten a few days before and it looked like his hand had been through a mangle!...so read the warning signs and stay on the bridge!!. We walked round the villages with the boys trying each pool (there is 7 in alll) one for each village and the main pool. The Village pools were warmer than the main pool. This took us up to lunchtime and after discussing where to go MGM got the thumbs up. Our Martinque building was right next to a bus stop and as usual we hardly waited anytime for a bus. The driver was the best Disney Driver ever and it was fantastic having him for out first trip. If you ever get 'Sandy' as your driver you know you will laugh all the way!. He had us singing, telling each other where we were from, all the children had to tell him their favourite character and he told us jokes!!. He made all the ladies blow him a kiss as they got off!!...he was fantastic. We went straight into MGM with no problem activating our 14 day hopper pass and could see straight away the park was alot quieter than our trip the year before in the middle of August. The boys ran all the way to Muppett 3D (stopping only for a few pics and autographs) this is one of their favourite shows and the theatre was not even half full. It was fun to rewatch it and as soon as they came out they darted across to Star Tours (who needs a map when you have been before!!) again no queue which we couldnt believe as we had queued on average an hour last year. This is one os Sams favourite rides so I sat watching his face mainly all the way through as his expressions are great!!. Off to Rock & Roll Rollercoaster next. Sam wont go on this (he is only 6!!!) so it was up to me and Tom to retry it first!!...No queue (we couldnt get over it!!) and once again it was better than remembered. We knew when the photo was going to be took so did out best Heavy Metal Impressions. Dougy then went on with Tom as I sat with Sam whilst he was noshing through a Mickey Mouse ice cream. We were starting to get tired and decided that we would make our way back as this had been a bonus as we had not planned to do a park on the first day. After looking in a few shops and checking our the new dog leads for our spaniel we went back to CBR. We all decided to go into the pool and have a snack dinner outside but when we got back the bar TV had the England game highlights against Ireland so that was the last we saw of Dougy for 2 hours!!. I went into the pool and then joined him in the bar. The boys made lots on new friends and the lifeguards had poo lgames on the go so they were fully entertained. I liked the idea of the poolbar being close to the pool and I am lucky that both my boys are very strong swimmers so were confident to let them be in there without me. With the footie being on there was alot on English at the bar. The atmosphere was great and we made the beginnings on new friendships. We met one of the barmaids who over the 2 weeks was brilliant and one of the best Disney Cast Memebers ever. If anyone is going to CBR soon please say hello to her for me she is Joanne (known as Jo Jo) and she is amazing...adores kids and is always experimenting in making new cocktails which she gives samples out and you have to rate them out of 10!! Her knowledge of Disney is astounding and gave us loads of hints and tips which we used. We went to the food court for some food. Boys just had some pasta and sauce and we had a lovely pre packed salad (huge bowl!!). We were certainly wilting by now and Sam even asked us to go to the room. We waved goodnight to our new Bar friends and walked back to the room. We had to cut across the Martinque pool area everytime to get back to our room and from that night onwards it was tradition that if any of us had swimwear on we had to dive in and swim the length of the pool rather than walk along!!. This was my first swim in the Martinque pool at night which was flooodlighten and a lovely way to finish our first day. Went to the room totally exhausted and flaked out in those wonderful beds within seconds!!

CBR sounds lovely. I wouldnt mind rating various cocktails for Jo-Jo!

Sounds like great first day in the parks Jane, how many of those cocktails did you try???

Well the cocktails did come in tiny plastic cups....over the 2 weeks I probably tried about 75!!...all different concoctions!!. Now I know 75 sounds alot and you all now think I have a drink problem (hee hee) BUT in my defence they were only mouthfuls and Jo-Jo use to even find me round the pool or yell me over as I walked passed to the shop or food court!!. She said I was a great taster and gave an honest opinion although sometimes I did not need to give an opinion as my face said it all (some had salt in!!..urgghhh!!) Sam and Tom were her kids cocktail tasters too!!
Doug just stuck to the Bud!!....but nothing could top Jo-Jos strawberry daquari with a floater....I was in heaven!!

Sounds like quite a relaxing day. Now if I knew that english football was scheduled at WDW, maybe DH would go more often :rotfl2:
