Does anyone recommend any specific building??? I've never stayed here but I'm helping a friend plan a trip and they have reservations at this resort. Convenience, nice area, specific things you like about a certain building???

My vote is for either Jamaica or Aruba. Both are across the lake from the main pool and 'Old Port Royale' (food court/shopping area). They both have they're own quiet pools and playground/beach area with FANTASTIC hammocks for late night cuddle time.:cloud9: For a building closest to the lake ask for Aruba 52 or 55, in Jamaica ask for 42 or 45. If they want to be close to a Bus Stop ask for 56 in Aruba or 43 or 46 in Jamaica. The quiet pools are surrounded by buildings 52, 54 and 55 in Aruba and 42 and 44 in Jamaica. For a building closest to the path to Old Port Royal ask for building 51 in Aruba or 45 in Jamaica.

We have stayed in #54 Aruba, #44 Jamaica, and #46 Jamaica.

Here's a map from Mouseplanet.com

Jamaica bldg 45 or 46 is right across the island/bridge from the main pool and retsurants, foodcourt and shops, nice and covenient and a beautiful short walk.

If they want to be near the food court & main pool I would suggest Martinique.
That is where we stayed in 2004 & it was very convenient. :cool1:

The advise the previous posters gave you is good. We stayed in Martinique 25, right next to the food court, and it was great. Very quiet, but very close, but it's a preferred building and you pay $15 more per night. We loved it, but will probably try Jamaica on our next trip.

You'll love CBR!

Also, make sure you check out the FAQ and FAQ-II that Safetymom started -- they're great resources with lots of information, and answers to any question you may have! She's got lots of photos posted you can check out, too.

Thank you so much. I have forwarded the link to this thread to her in an e-mail and she can decide if she'd like to add the request. They are "newbies", and I'm doing my best to cover all areas I would.

We were just there last week and in building 13 (Barbados the first night) and then Trinidad North Building 31. For us , all villages were close enough to the food court with the exception of Trinidad South.

Many people like Jamaica or Aruba if they aren't paying extra for the preferred locations.

You might want to read the CBR faq's listed below. I also have lots of photos on my website. CBR is a beautiful resort and they will have a great time.

We were in Building 26. It was close to Old Port Royale and the bus stop.

We had so much fun at the Caribbean Beach.

Ditto everything Shelby5514 said. We've stayed in both Jamaica and Aruba and LOVED the location. You're far enough away from the hustle-bustle of OPR, yet just a leisurely walk over the bridge to get to it.

CBR was the very first Disney-owned hotel I stayed at (I think it was back in 1988 or so), and it still remains my favorite.

For what its worth... One year I had a room that was near(and I think over looked) the road that goes around the resort and during the evenings, you can hear the buses going around. Another year I payed for a water view and was disappointed with it because I was at the very end of the lake which was down alot from a drought. I didnt see much water. If you dont mind a casual 5-10min walk, to port royal, dont spend the extra for a preferred location.

Best advice.... Look at the map provided by an above poster and pick out your top three locations,. Print it out and take it with you so you can ask for a change at the desk if you need to(they also provide one). They wont quarantee you a specific room when you book but, Pick a room that faces to the middle of the court yard area for a quiet room with lots of landscaping.

I have this one on my website. It is the map given at check in at CBR.

Safetymom - I must have missed it (or forgotten it) when I looked @ your postings way back in March when we were first trying to decide where to stay. Will have to go thru it again to see what else I've missed or forgotten before our January trip. By the way, thanks for all the great information, guidance & pictures. You do alot of hard work - it's very much appreciated & your enthusiam is catching.

Thanks Again. :flower:

We are travelling with a 4 yr old and a 17 mth old. We'd like to put them to bed at night and use our baby monitor to sit outside.

Any recommendations as to where we should stay at CBR? The hammoks sound nice, but are there rooms where we would be too far away to do it?

You might want to request a courtyard room. Then you could sit out in the courtyard and listen to your monitor. Most of the rooms are not that close to the beach.

We were in Martinique 2549, which is about as close to the beach (although 2nd floor) as you can get, but it's probably still farther than I'd be comfortable going with such a young child in the room. However, as Safetymom said, I think a first-floor courtyard room would be ideal -- and the courtyards are really nice areas to sit in.
