My daughter (8) would love to take a carriage ride at Fort Wilderness. I would love it too, but with only a 3-night trip, I want to make sure it's really something we should do, or could our time be better spent elsewhere?

Please share your carriage ride experiences at FW...thanks!

My DH, along with my parents & I did this in May 2004. You can choose ahead of time to reserve the carriage for 4 people or for 2 (smaller). It was quite nice, but I'm not sure if children would enjoy it as much as adults (anyone with children can correct me if I'm wrong). It is a slow, quiet, & for us, romantic ride. We had dinner at AP beforehand & had scheduled the carriage ride for dusk. I felt rushed throughout dinner & it was a bit of a rush to get there from WL on time. I would recommend spacing any dinner plans very far apart from your carriage ride or better yet, have that as your focus for the evening & do something casual before or after.
