Carpet flying?

Last tine we were in California adventure my husband went to the alladin show. He loves it. He commented the the carpet was not flying. I know there was an accident with it awhile back but wondered if it is flying again? Or did they stop doing that all together?

I personally loved it. I remember the first time I saw the show it was amazing. Still my husbands favorite and sees it every time.

We were there when the accident happened. We went back this year and saw the show, they were not doing the flying carpet.

No flying carpet when we were there Oct. 1. We loved the show, anyway. Even our wild child 2 year old sat quietly through the whole thing!

I thought I read a while ago that Disney was looking to replace the Aladdin show with something different. I am guessing that since the Aladdin show is going to be replaced, they aren't going to fix the "flying carpet" any time soon.

There have been rumors of a replacement for years but it hasn't happened yet. No flying carpet until OSHA clears it. Yes, the carpet malfunctioned and yes the people on the carpet fell but due to safety harnesses and fast reflexes they are fine. No, there is not a flying carpet now and it really lacks that element in that part of the show.
