Carpet Cleaner Recommendation?

Steam cleaner broke...need a new one. Good, reasonable in price.

Thanks for recommendations! We have 2 dogs, one is sick - and I can't live without a carpet cleaning machine!

I have heard great things about the Hoover Silver model. It is $139 now on Walmart.com with good reviews. It seems to do better than the pricier units.

I just rent the Rug Doctor (check the bristles before you choose one) as Consumer Reports didn't rate any of the household ones very highly. It saves me closet space since you can buy a Rug Doctor but they are super expensive...and not something I use enough to get my money's worth. It always does a great job and is pretty easy to use.
