Carpal Tunnel Settlement

This is a dumb question, but with all the computer/cellphone/handheld games being used after work hours, how do you know that your CPS is due to work? (I work a desk job, so I'm on the computer ALL the time.)

I'm just curious - I'm not at all implying that you don't deserve the compensation (or that you didn't get it at work)...

In my case it was easy, it started in the early '90's before computers/cellphones/etc. were common. I was a casino dealer and didn't have any problems until I picked up black jack. The casinos knew the repetitive movements involved in dealing black jack were an issue, but didn't want to either change the movements or admit there was a problem. Maybe things have changed now, I had to quit after 3 surgeries in 2 years.

You're lucky...I didn't get anything. I went thru work paid PT and that was it!!!! And then they fired me 6 weeks after my PT was over, they claimed it was not due to the tendonitis but I don't really believe that, the timing was just too precise.

Mine was NOT due to phone use, I had a regular phone, just got my smart phone this past February, I was fired last June so I know that my injury was work related...now I have a new job, computer based again, I won't feel right making a claim to this employer either.....

mine was work related, they didn't fight it at all. I am an ultrasound technologist, and it is well documented that US techs are prone to CTS. But, now, years later, I have a LOT of trouble with my right (scanning side) shoulder and that side of my neck. I'm sure it is work related. It gets really bad when I have a heavy patient load, or if I have to scan a lot of Pooh sized patients. I'm going to try some massage therapy. Hopefully that will help.
