:cool1: Ok, we are getting closer, but now Costco only offers certain hotels, and none of the good ones you guys are talking about seem to show! (BUT we do get a good overall cost and a free character meal if we go thru them)
These two seem to be the best bets (by looking at distance only):

Carousel Inn and Suites
Best Western Aneheim Inn

Looking for close, clean, quiet. What would you say, first hand, about these hotels? Also, when we book one of these, any secrets on which rooms to ask for/avoid? One thing to mention about us personally: We dont expect much from a business, BUT we do expect them to do what they say they will do. Sometiems that is a big problem. (If they dont promise it, fine. I dont expect it. But if they promise it, I want it.)
THANK YOU!
THANK YOU!

We've stayed at both. I prefer the Carousel. The BW Anaheim was really run down. This was 3 years ago, I'm not sure if they've renovated it sine then or not.

We have only stayed at the Anaheim Inn and that was last March. It was ok, a no frills hotels. It was clean, had a pool, very close to DL which was what we wanted. DH and I are going back this March and plan to stay at the AI again. Hope that helps.

Oh, we were a family of 4 last year and we got an 'over sized' room. I wouldn't say it was much bigger than a 'normal' room, seemed the same as every other room I have been in.

We just booked Best Western Park Place Inn not Anaheim Inn, through Costco. Of your choices and if you want to stick with booking through Costco, the best hotel for a non-DLR hotel and great walking is the BWPPI.

We've only stayed at Carousel.

Pros:

clean and comfortable enough
good rates
sink outside the toilet/bathtub room
sliding shutters can close off the bathroom area (good for getting myself
ready without waking up all the kiddos)
microwave
larger than average fridge (not the small cube shaped ones normally found in hotels)
ample enough storage space for clothes and luggage (has a closet off the bathroom)
I asked once and was told they only have around 7 (?) rooms designated smoking rooms -- so if N/S is important, since no one ever wants to guarantee nonsmoking anymore, chances are fair you'll get it

Cons:

tight quarters (not something that bothers us terribly, but it might some people)
I don't think those are queen beds in there; more like double
busy elevator
housekeeping not that prompt (showed up at 4pm during nap time)
weird sewer-y smell sometimes (might be common among all the hotels in that area though, so I hear)

We have not stayed at the Best Western but have stayed at the Carousel at least 10 times. We have only had one bad experience and that was because it was next to a very noisy room but the staff moved us and was very courteous about it.

When we go we usually don't spend much time in a hotel so I am not that picky as long as it's clean and doesn't smell. I have never experienced either of those bad situations at the Carousel Inn. The continental breakfast is very basic but we always eat in the parks anyway so it's never been an issue.

It's only a few more steps from crosswalk. We always try to stay witin 5 hotels of either side of it.

Sorry I dont have anything to comment on the Best Western. Good Luck

The only thing that I don't like about the Carousel Inn is that if your flight gets in early and as with most hotels check in time is not till 3:00pm at most places they give you a key to a storage room to put your bags, but the problem I have with this is that anyone staying at the hotel has access to your bags and the hotel staff don't really pay attention to who is coming and going out of that storage room. The rooms are clean and nice and they have just your basic breakfast oranges, muffins that kind of stuff. Now, as for the Best Western Anahiem Inn we have stayed there the last two times we've been to DL. The staff were very friendly and helpful but the down side to this hotel is that they only offer two double beds in every room. My husband and I are average size people and for the two of us to sleep in double bed was very uncomfortable. Each room had a refrig, microwave, hair dryer. oh.. and another thing if you have a car:drive: to park, the parking REALLY sucks.:headache: I wouldn't mind staying in this hotel again. This hotel is clean and has everything you need. We never spend that much time in the room anyways so were not really that picky. Just want it to be clean. We have decided for our Dec 2007 trip that we will be staying at the Best Western Park Place Inn. located across the street. Now, we have heard nothing but good about this hotel so I'm excited to see how it will turn out during our stay. We have never stayed at this hotel before so we'll see. If you can, try and book this hotel because I've heard that this is a very family friendly hotel and they are very accommodating to their guest. plus, it's right across the street. so good luck and have fun planning your trip!

Oh, I forgot to add, if you do stay at the Best Westen Anahiem Inn stay away from room 216 as that is right next to the laundry room where the maids wash laundry ALL night long very noisy!!! and 210 because that is next to the maids closet also very noisy. This is were they all meet in the morning 6:00am and all you hear are them talking and rolling their carts in and out of the room also VERY NOISY!!!!!:headache:
