I haven't been on the COP at WDW but I've been on the COP at Disneyland. They took it out and then brought it back for a limited amount of time (at Disneyland), then they took it out. :(

After 10 (I think?) trips to WDW, DH and I did CofP for the first time last week. I knew it was way past time that we gave it a try, and we did enjoy it, but truly, the refuge from the heat and humidity was what we appreciated about it the most! :) :)

The first time I went on CoP was at the NY Worlds Fair way back in 1964. I was VERY young at the time. :p

To me it's one of the most nostalgic rides in the park. I have such fond memories of it as a kid. It's such a treasure.

I was so happy and surprised that it was open this last trip in the beginning of September. I love it for two reasons: it reminds me of our family trips back in the 70s (when I was a kid!) and Walt conceived and loved the idea. It makes me feel closer to knowing what Walt was all about!

We like it!! I also ride it when DH is on Space Mountain! I love the puppy doggie!

I liked it a lot. My DW could take it or leave it. I hope it is open in December but who knows since Stich will be open. If I don't get to see it, at least I can see it on video whenever I would like.

I think that I went on it once and I liked it ok. :)

Love It! I am one of ther older ones here who saw it for the 1st time at the 64 Worlds Fair when I was 10 . Holds a lot of nostalgia for myself and DH!

Love it! A pure Disney classic!

It's one of our favorite warm and fuzzy, feel good attractions,
I'm humming that tune for hours afterwards.

We love it!!

The song is so catchy. The boys going around singing it. I hope the CoP stays open. It certainly is classic Disney.

I always love seeing the Carousel of Progress!! Last time we went it wasn't busy at all (January) and there were lots of empty seats, so I was able to videotape the entire show, so now I can see it anytime I want to!!! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Like it! Saw it for the first time at the NY World's fair and it had always been a favorite. But when we saw it on Halloween last year, it seemed to have lost some of it's enchantment for me, too dated, I think. Absence did not make my heart grow fonder. So, I've gone from loving it to liking it, sigh.

I cant even tell you how much I love it!! I would love to be able to share it with my children...

It's definitely a piece of not just Disney history but also American history. It says a lot about ideas of progress and industry in the 20th century. When these types of performances emerged at the 1939 World's Fair, industries like GE (and GM- think Epcot's Horizons) made the argument that commercial growth and consumerism would produce a brighter national future than the types of social programs then being proposed by the Roosevelt administration. We are so much of a consumer culture now that it's easy to miss the involvement of the corporate sponsors.

OK- that's my historical reaction to the exhibit. Personally, it's one of my absolute favorite attractions...love the song (either one), love the moving theatre, love the early animatronics.

I used to LOVE this attraction when I was a kid. I thought it was so cool that the theater moved.

Then I went back on it last year. The ride got stuck and we ended up watching the first scene three times. I didn't cover my ears and scream but I really wanted to. I can't even look at that ride anymore!
