Carousel of Progress - last scene too different?

But PoC will always be in demand, I'd wager Jack Sparrow or not.

We, the Dis-fanatics are the ones who really keep CoP going. If it's about spending good money on bad, then perhaps they should close it down. I don't want that to happen any more than you do, but considering it's head has been on the block for a while, well, Disney doesn't seem to see a need for maintaining it.

But how do you update CoP without adding scenes to it. Everything we have today most of us oldies have lived through. Showing that wouldn't be interesting. It is interesting to see were we started because, frankly, our children of today don't even realize that there wasn't always color TV. Showing where we were, even if it was a hundred years ago, cannot be compromised. Therefore the leap is necessary and really not that big a deal.

The final scene, to address a different question, is supposed to represent the same family living in our time. The reference to Cousin Orville kind of reinforces that. If he were still in the bathroom after all those years he would be having some serious medical problems. My take has always been, same family, different times. On a related note the voice of the grandfather in the final scene is the same voice used as the father in the "original" CoP.
