We just returned yesterday and I am happy to say that they are finally putting some money into Carousel of Progress.

They have put all new seats in the theaters and they have givin John new faces in the 2nd and 3rd act. I am so glad they are finally doing something with my favorite Disney show. :)

They've been working on the attraction for nearly a year now, on and off and pretty inconspicuously. In March when we were there, one of the theatres was closed off while workers were working on new chairs and replacing carpet.

It is great news!

:cool1: :thumbsup2 :yay: :dance3: :joker: :wave2:

So can you tell I love this attraction? I am so glad they are sprucing it up :)

Can't wait to ride it :)

Glad to hear. Anyone know if there are plans to update/change the last scene? :cheer2:

I really would like to see another scene added as opposed to just updating the existing last scene. If the new scene were last it would have to be shorter since people would be exiting the theater at that position in the carousel rotation.

An alternative fifth scene would have the first scene reworked to be shorter and start up as the last few people were sitting down. Then the new fifth scene would be full length.

One narration that went with CoP (not too many years go) emphasized the fact there were six stages, as if Walt himself envisioned six scenes at some time in the future. Well, WDW has four theme parks now, at least one description suggested five or six in a master plan, so what can I say?

YAY! This has been my favorite attraction since I was a kid.

DH can't stand it - but somehow I talk him into it every time! (Usually after we get our fastpass for Buzz - gotta kill time, right?!)

woohoo DW loves this show. i still cant get the song out of my head LOL

Any of you guys been around long enough to remember the first song... "Now is the time, Now is the best time, Now is the best time of your life... "

It looks like somebody has been sprinkling pixie dust!

I've been around long enough to know that "Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow" is actually the original song, as shown at the 1964 New York World's Fair, and when it moved to Disneyland after the fair ended. It wasn't until the move to WDW that the sone was changed to "Now Is The Time" as GE (who were the sponsor) had changed their advertising slogans and wanted a song to reflect their new campaign.

And yes, I'm very glad they have put some time and money into fixing this classic attraction!
