Looking at this hotel. 2 rooms. I hear its really close, 5 minute or less walk, cont breakfast, pool, free parking.. anything else I should question? Anyone have experience and an opinion?
Much thanks!

I posted the same question a couple of weeks ago on here, and no response. I found some reviews on a travel website that were okay. We've got it booked for our trip in Nov. We normally stay at Candy Cane Inn, but this was cheaper and closer, so we thought we should give it a try.

We've stayed at the Park Vue, and the Fairfield Inn, and didn't care for either (for different reasons).

Anyone have any experiences with Carousel????

We were going to stay there last month, but decided for the Tropicana Inn next door instead. From what I understand the rooms are good size and clean. Good breakfast, and they have the breakfast in a room that has a beautiful view of the parks. The pool is on the roof, seemed rather small. And they do not have a hot tub. That's why we stayed next door, because my DH HAS to have a hot tub! LOL Next door also had a larger pool.

Location is really good, those hotels there are like 5 minute walks. We got spoiled by it and won't stay anywhere but across the street now, when we stay offsite!

If the pool/hot tub wasn't an issue we'd stay at the Carousel Inn.

We've stayed there twice, but it was quite a while ago, the 1st time in 1990 and the 2nd time in 1999. In 1990 we had a std room w/2 queen beds, which was fine for our then family of 4 (2 children ages 10 & 12). In 1999, we had a 2BR mini suite, which we really enjoyed. We had 4 adults and it worked out fine. My DH and I stayed in a separate BR w/queen bed and my DD and friend stayed in the other room w/ queen bed and pull out sofa bed. The rooms were very clean and roomy and the location was very convenient. Although we did have the free continental breakfast offer, we never took advantage of it so I can't comment on it but I've heard that it's not bad at all.

I just stayed at Carousel last week and found it just fine. I would stay there again. (I've also stayed at Hojo's and Camelot Inn and found both of those fine too).

The pool is small, but the water was warm and my kid loved it. I think you can see the fireworks from there because it is rooftop, but we didn't try that. There is no hot tub as already stated.

The cont breakfast was fairly good as freebie's go. They had hard boiled eggs, oatmeal, toast, OJ, and different danishes. There were also apples, oranges, etc. and coffee or tea. Yes, it has a lovely view of the parks. My only complaint would be that it doesn't open early enough to eat there on an early entry morning. It opens one hour before park opening.

The Carousel layout is kind of strange in that most rooms are above ground level, like floor 2 and above. The cars park on level 1 under the rooms. We did have one of the rare ground level rooms in the back building. This room had hardwood floors and was clean and pretty. There was a fridge and microwave in the room. The bathroom vanity was separate from the shower/toilet which is nice if there are many people in a room. the A/C was rather loud when it ran, but we just turned it off at night. I found the front desk people to be very friendly and helpful.

For me, location is key and this is in a great location. After staying within walking distance on HArbor I won't ever stay anywhere else. Now I just pick from those hotels based on price (the free breakfast is a nice bonus). (And I avoid PArk Vue as it gets bad reviews).

We've stayed there twice this year and really like it. We don't eat the continental breakfast so that is not an issue for us. The pool is small as already mentioned but it was really warm on the cool Spring nights that we were there and we like the fact that we can see the parks from the rooftop. :)

We had an excellent stay last year, good sized rooms, good sized microwave and fridge, good staff, good breakfast and excellent location. Pool is small but OK. We would definitely stay again.

Thanks for all the info. We booked 2 free nights at the Doubletree Suites (we have a gift certificate) - paying for a shuttle for 2 days is cheaper than paying for a hotel room! The rest of our trip is booked for Carousel. Everything sounds great from what you all say, and thankfully, we are blessed to have a pool and a spa in our backyard, so that part won't be an issue for our family. :woohoo: Thanks again!

Stayed there a few times, ditto what everybody else said, plus my daughter thought the girl at the front desk looked like Jasmine. princess: Good place.

We stayed at Carousel for one night in November, 2005 after staying the previous 5 nights at Desert Inn and Suites. We had decided to add a night and DI couldn't accomodate us. We thought that employees at Carousel were friendlier, but the room was smaller and there was more wear and tear on Carousel's room. The wallpaper had a big rip, and that sort of thing.

However, we normally stay at Candy Cane and it's a little nicer than both the others. We were staying at DI&S due to having grandchildren with us and needing the suite.

I would stay at any of them again, depending on the prices, etc. the DI was closest to the crosswalk.
