Wondered if anyone has stayed at the Carousel Inn & Suites on Harbor in the past 6 months? How was it? Any tips?

We stayed in a family suite, but it's basically 2 rooms with a connecting door. The rooms are huge! We had tons of space. They are clean, and we had no problems with housekeeping. The bathroom is just a bathroom, but the shower had good pressure. The walk to the parks is easy, and it's right next door to McDonalds (which my teen son loved). We walked to Mimi's Cafe (yummy), and stopped at Cold Stone Creamery on the way back from the parks one day. Also Denny's and Ihop are right there. So, lots of food options nearby.
They do not have free internet, and I was hoping to pick up McDonalds, but no luck. The internet is $10.00/24 hours, too much to be worth it to me.
check in was easy, and we actually had to stay an extra day in Flagstaff due to weather (we drove from Oklahoma), so I called and they moved my reservation back one day with no problem and no extra charges, so that pleased me. All in all, I liked it. It's not too fancy, but not a slum. I would stay there again in a heartbeat, assuming the price was in our budget. And, I never tried the continental breakfast, so I can't comment on that.

I misread your question.... we didn't stay at the Carousel, we wer 1 hotel over, The Camelot! Sorry

We stayed there a few years ago and we are headed there this weekend...I'll post about it when we get back:)

I stayed there in February. I had no issues with it. It's my second stay there. The elevators are slow and last year were down half the time we were there. A couple people in our group were "grossed out" by the fact that the towels are a dingy off-white color. Didn't bother me because my white towels are the same color from having hard water and not using bleach at home. They smelled clean. I like the place and would certainly stay there again if their price matched or beat Best Western. They do a continental breakfast in the morning, but I've never tried it. The rooms are SMALL, but they have a little microwave and fridge, which is nice. The staff I had contact with was all nice.

I saw numerous complaints about the cable service (people complained that the reception & sound were terrible) when I looked up reviews. Was that an issue for recent stays anyone?

I stayed in a Concierge queen room there Feb 20-26, and really liked it! The staff were excellent the entire time, went above and beyond for us and always ridiculously friendly. The room was clean and fresh, a little dark, but comfy and the shower was great. A few TV channels were a bit off (fuzzy or no sound) but there were enough good channels that we were able to watch what we wanted (news, weather, Disney channel etc). Concierge Club rooms are in the back so its quiet, but if you are on the second floor there isn't elevator access. We also received coupons for $10/day towards Quiznos, which paid for four drinks per day! Super close, easy walk to the parks, there is valet parking but we didn't have a car so no comment on that. The pool is small; you can view the fireworks from their viewing room; didn't try breakfast but it is included.

Overall I had a great stay at the Carousel, would definitely go back if the price is right. We paid $90 CDN/night for concierge, which was an awesome deal for what we got! If you have any specific questions, ask away! :)

We have stayed at the Carousel twice in the last 6 months and had a good experience each time. Both times we were in a Concierge Queen/Queen room which is at the back of the hotel and nice and quiet. The rooms are fairly spacious and have a small fridge and microwave in them. The concierge rooms have a nice bathroom area with granite counter tops and the shower had great pressure and hot water. The beds are really comfy! We took advantage of the breakfast a few times and while it is nothing fancy, it fills the need and cuts down on costs. We also used our $10 Quiznos voucher for drinks and snacks mostly. popcorn::
We love the short walk to the parks, that is one of the major reasons we chose it as well, I love being at our room within minutes of leaving the park:banana:

So glad to hear more positive reviews from everyone--I booked a premium 2 queen room and was told it's in the back section and quieter (though not a concierge room--none available for our dates--darn!). Will be our first stay at Carousel and 2nd trip ever to the Land!
Thanks everyone!
