Day –1 (30/11/02)

The Eve before the Eve before Disney.

Who are we? Me – Jane (real age 28 Disney age 8-must remember passport when wanting to purchase alcohol)
Carol (real age 29 soon to be 30 can’t think of a better place to reach a milestone!-also must remember passport when wanting to purchase alcohol)

Okay, so this is the Eve before the Eve I fly down to Gatwick to meet up with Carol. We are planning to stop at the Hilton the night before and use Twilight Check-in.

Everyone who knows me have now got it that I have 2 major obsessions in my Life Disney and Michael Ball. I’ve already seen Chitty 2 times this year and have another 3 shows booked for next year. I have seen Lion King earlier this year and have Beauty and the Beast booked for January next year. So when it comes to 2 weeks with the Mouse. I get just a little excited!

Tonight I’ve been doing my final packing and making sure I’ve got my surprises for Carol all sorted! I eventually get to bed about 2am and sleep about 3.30am. Hmm… For someone who likes lots of sleep this is not good!

Day 0 (01/12/02)

The Eve before Disney

Arrive very early at Manchester Airport. But as I drive the M60 5 days a week am paranoid about getting there late!

Wave bye to Mum and Dad and check-in luggage go for a wander around. Flight with BA soon arrives its only a short hop so as soon as the planes up have a drink and a sandwich planes down and landed. Only problem is the stairs to get us off the plane weren’t there so I was a little delayed! Now to test the effectiveness of new scarlet luggage. Will it be easy to spot?…..

Yes it was so very easy to pick up! Now to get from the North Terminal to the South Terminal and then to the Hilton. The Gatwick Hilton Mini-Marathon. That’ll teach me for packing so much!

Get to the Hilton Check – In and leave a missed call on friends mobile so she knows I’ve arrived. She’s caught up on the M25 so sit and watch the TV.

We are going to use Twilight check-in so that will be Gatwick Mini-Marathon part 2!

Carol has arrived. We get settled in for a while before going off to South Terminal to check in. That goes off without a hitch and we eat at Garfunkels. Food OK but nothing special.

Next The Flight and Arrival at the Beach Club...
