Last report after affecting MM2000 & Party of 3 they were expecting it to hit the Boston area per the weather channel... I hope everyone stays safe and little to no damage... I hope everyone has a chance to report in and let us know they are okay...

Stay safe.. prayers and pixie dust...

Headed towards memere, my aunts and my cousin.
I have an email in to my cousin, I hope she gets email on her phone.

Prayers for everyone to stay safe for the next few hours. We are headed to the high school for awards night.

Cassey, how did you make out?

I heard from MorgansMom, they are ok. MomE is at the Cape, the storm bypassed her area.

Hope everyone is ok.

So far we are good. Mostly thunder and lightning, seems there is a storm near us right now. We just returned home from high school, need to update on the weather.

Glad everyone is safe so far.

happy everyone is okay....hope the storms move through quickly tonight!

Glad to hear MM2000 and family are safe...
That is some scary stuff, especially in areas that usually don't see tornados...

It's bad Nancy. We watched the news last night and the pictures are bad. Schools are closed, some indefinitely. 4 people were killed, it's amazing it wasn't more because Springfield is so populated and everything is close together.

I can only imagine.. photos never do anything justice. I have lived thru several tornados in the area..but knock on wood never directly affecting my home..

Once when I was younger my Daddy called home and told us we have 15 minutes to get everything in the house that would fly... beautiful day outside but we did as we were told... The clouds darkened up... mom rushed us to the bathroom..and I remember going out and looking because of the awful noise..mom and I saw the tornado touchdown in our cul-de-sac and go past our house... literally right down our street.. we could see the spinning clouds thru the windows..... it ended up not doing any damage to our house but we lost our pool.... :( It skipped over a few fields and hit our elementary school... put the stairwell right into my classroom.. (school got out the week before for summer).

I kept telling the kids... the building there probably have a lot of historical value too... they trees that have lived years and years... houses that are the homeowners dreams... It's so so sad... Then to hit at rush hour... and people driving, walking...
Do you all have tornado sirens like we do? Never thought about that before.. We have 3 that we hear from our house... but we sit in town... so we can hear them well..

First of all, I want to say that I am so thankful that everyone is OK.

Next I want to say that it is so nice to see how much you all care for each other. I don't know if you are all friends IRL or if you are just acquaintances on here. Either way, I don't have any IRL friends that would be that concerned over me and I think you are a great group of people!!! It's great to see that you all even have cell numbers to check on each other!! :grouphug: to everyone from me!

We have fire sirens in the center of our town, I think most places up here do. It's mostly for our volunteer fire fighters who can hear the siren from home but I'm sure they would use them for tornadoes, if the call came through to the fire house.

Springfield is pretty old. That church that lost the steeple in Monson was 137 years old. It was a beautiful church too, like one you'd see in a post card of New England.

Lots of prayers, pixie dust, and love to all of our New England friends. The videos are just shocking! :grouphug:

We're (my family) about 60-70 miles from the really hard hit areas. I admit to being quite terrified last night, but had to act cool so I didn't freak the kid out. I was ready to run to the basement at anytime, but it never got that bad.

We did have a lightning strike around 9:00 pm that scared the living daylights out of me. I swear it was in my front yard.

I'm thankful there weren't *more* fatalities, the images on the news are of pure devastation.

So grateful all our "family" is okay and made it through the storms!
continued prayers for those who were affected....

Some of us have met IRL...but some have not... Buffy and I talk daily via text and have vacationed together twice... soon to be a third time.. everyone gets along great..and her DH doesn't hesitate to give me static at times!! Gotta love him for that...

Most of the time my own family doesn't check on me, honestly I don't give them the chance.. I'm calling and checking on them. I'm the maternal one in my family so I do all the checking and the take care for my real life family (immediate and extended)... ...so my "in the box" family does!

Most of the time if there is an issue we all rally around one another, if we know what is going on... Those who are closer usually take the led in getting stuff to them or for them in a time of need... Phone calls usually one person will touch base so that the individual is not bombard with calls.. then we report in here! :)
