My DS is seven and he loves to play those skill games. He is so disappointed that he has been unable to win a big Sponge Bob. Do you know any hints or tips I could pass on to him?

Why not ask them if u can buy one from them and let him think he won it:jester:

We've given up on trying to win anything. My tip is to watch until you find someone who is really good. Then ask them to play for you.

Good ideas. Poor kid works so hard in school for his spending money. (I reward for good grades instead of weekly allowance) He has been disappointed so many times but I am proud of him for not giving up.

Some games require only 2 people. Get to the games when they open and try to get it so that just you and he are at the game. Or try the dart game. All you have to do is pop a balloon. ;)

I think I'll try that. He would surely win if he only had me to play against. I stink at those games.
I have been a shy lurker for quite awhile. Thanks for making me feel welcome.

oh my! May 2003! You've been around as long as I have! :) Welcome to the boards....the posting aspect of it! :) ;)

Do as the Dark Marauder said!!! Now when we played to get a "big" toy it took three players. We played right away in the morning. We had three players and our daughter won a big Spongebob and Scooby Doo. Now I cannot remember what it actually ended up costing us but it was cheaper than buying it in the store. We had them sent up front and picked up later in the day. That is a great incentive!!!! We played the game in Islands of Adventures - over by Toon Lagoon. You shoot water into a balloon. Piece of cake! Save a suitcase to take them home.

Which park has the carnival games, IOA or US? How much do they cost to play? Thanks!

IOA for the carnival games some are $2 with no losers so every child gets a small toy:jester:

Both have them. IOA has them in Lost Continent and Toon Lagoon. USF has them near Jaws.

Oops sorry forgot about those next to jaws cost me $20 as well prob why I forgot $20 no toy:(

My DS wanted one of the Sponge Bob's too - he selected one of the vendors in the Lost Continent area. The game was to toss a ping pong ball in a cup; I think it was if you got one in a red cup, you got a medium size SB. $2 later, he hit it!:Pinkbounc :hyper:

He was thrilled, and did not need to go for any other prize.

I think these games are less "rigged" than you normally find at carnivals or fairs. I sure do see a lot of people carrying around prizes!;)
