Carnival Glory (Eastern) vs. Disney Wonder (Nassau) Comparison Report In Progress!

My girls are older teens so the kids programs don't apply. But, they absolutely love disney. We are planning a big, probably last, (though they say they'll never get sick of the parks!!!!) trip to Disney in Orlando. We thought since they are older and always wanted to take one that we could splurge and take a Disney Cruise. But, for the 3 night cruise and the cabin I am looking at is very, very pricey.

First off, for 4 people in one cabin would you splurge for the biggest "normal" cabin which on Disney is the Family Suite with Veranda. Also, is it worth it with older disney fanatics without using kids/teen clubs and/or lining up for Characters. They do love disney shows, musicals, decor, etc., etc.

We have taken a carnival cruise and we can do a Royal Carribean cruise for 4 nights out of cape canaveral for significantly cheaper--so it's not about taking a cruise. It's about taking a Disney cruise. Just wanted your opinion on whether or not it's worth the money. I know everyone is different and it's just your two cents so please be honest!

For us we booked a cat 12 and got upgraded.. #1..we arent in the cabin that often so having a more expensive one doesnt matter to us..We'd rather be out doing other things than in the cabin. And because we booked a 12 we got automatically upgraded to a 11 because there was 4 of us..My kids loved meeting the characters but they are 9 and 10...Hope this helps...:)

It seemed you could fit 4 in our cabin easily--they had the upper berth and the couch converted to a bed, so the teens would have their own place to sleep.

The separate bathrooms are tiny and really only fit one person--so while one could shower while the other primps in the other bathroom...you may fine limited access to the bathroom b/c of your teens.

There was also plenty of storage--but again...we weren't packing with 2 teenagers.

I knew as a teen that I had access to the spa and such....even though I loved disney and would have adored the disney boat as a teen...I would have been seriously bummed about that.

Also--I either make friends real easily or am quite the wall flower...so I am not sure how I would have done in the stack or aloft. But with a sibling...I may have done better. Who knows?

For the cost of a verandah though--it is likely you can get 2 adjoining cabins for about the same or less $$$ and have double the space...and double the bathrooms.

I believe all that Cat 4 offers is a wee bit extra lenght that accomodates a chair that turns into a sleep space....not necessarily worth the upgrade. We were talked out of it for our family of 5 (one is an infant) by our TA...and it worked out well to have 2 cabins instead of just the 1.
