Sailed on Disney Magic last April 2001 which was great. Last week
went on Carnival Imagination 4 day which stopped in Key West and Cozumel. Traveled with wife & 2 daughters(7 & 10). Ship is
about 8 years old and in excellent shape. The food, entertainment
,and cruise director were very good. Missed the cabin size and
split bathroom of the Magic(6610). Carnival cabins on older ships
are kind of sterile looking but ok for a for 4 day cruise.
In Key West went to Ft. Zachary Taylor park which has a nice beach. Tried to snorkel but to much current so just swam. In
Cozumel went to Chankanaab park which has excelent snorkeling.
Was a 10.00 cab ride from pier and 10.00/person admission.
Park has full facilities and restaurant. Worth the trip
Missed Palos but thought main dining room food was tasty and
well presented. Lots of chair saving on deck on day at sea
something Carnival should address.
Hopefully will sail on Magic (western) in the next year or two
Just wanted to provide a quick comparison for anyone interested.
Thank You

When you cruised on Carnival did you have any trouble with the crew? I have gone on two 4 day Carnival cruises and the crew was very pushy when it came to tips and if you were on board without a male they became very forward.

When I sailed on the Magic with some other travel agents I was very comfortable with the international crew they had. To me it was like night and day. I no longer sail on Carnival but that is just my choice, I did not like the crew or the decor of the ships.

Have a great time on your next Disney Cruise!

Carnival now adds gratuities to shipboard account like Disney.
Didn"t find any crew members pushy but drink servers are
in great numbers on deck and at the shows/nightclubs. Just to add to my original post there were far fewer children on board
than when i was on the Magic. My daughters did use the kids
clubs and enjoyed the programs but the space Carnival provides
for them is tiny compared to the Disney ships.
