My DD and I (well, actually me at this point ) want to have an early dinner there on a Wednesday (Oct 1). Would you go ahead and make an ADR or would you try for a seating earlier in the day for an early dinner? We like to have dinner around 4:00 - 4:30pm when travelling. We have 2 meals a day.

You're unlikely to need an ADR for that time of day, but it never hurts to have one if you know you really want to go. I'd make the ADR. You can always change it as the date gets closer if you need to, but don't no-show.

While we're at it, does anyone know why Carnation Cafe (and other DL restaurants, but not DCA restaurants) are closing down at 5:00 on Oct 1. This is not a Mickey's Halloween Party day.
