Carnation Cafe

I have been reading the various threads about Carnation Cafe being a good place to watch the fireworks. I have also read that they do not stay open for dinner all year round. We are going in Oct 2012 and was wondering if anyone has experience in October and being able to watch the fireworks from CC?

The plaza is a good spot to watch. I don't think Carnation Cafe would be good because it's tucked between buildings on Main street.

Not CC, I think you probably mean Plaza Inn. We've done this plenty of times. We go in, grab dinner, sit outside, eat then while we are considering dessert the fireworks start and you've got a nice view. It's not a perfect view, there are shrubs in the way but it's good enough. Keep in mind, we've seen the fireworks plenty of times so we don't feel cheated by having the shrubs in the way.

Later this summer, it will also have indoor seating when it reopens and is reported to be more of a Starbucks Cafe in the mornings, transitioning into a full service restaurant later in the day.
