Carissa's "Let's Get Healthy" Journal!

17 lbs Holly? That's awesome! Can you share some of that with me? ;) I'm still only at 7 lbs or so. But my body has definitely been changing and I think I'm changing a lot of fat to muscle.

Kim...no...she doesn't have a journal. Trying to talk her into starting one though ;)

I didn't workout yesterday. AF is here and was just feeling really tired and yucky. Feeling the same way today, but I'm going to try and do something. I did walk to the park with my oldest yesterday and we practiced throwing, catching and batting for t-ball. He has his first game tomorrow morning.

Breakfast: shredded wheat/egg pancake w/ ketchup

Snack: skim milk mocha

Lunch: salad w/ steak strips

Snack: some nuts

Supper: chicken drumsticks (no skin), turnip and green beans

Snack: went to a friend's house to do some quilting and got home and was very hungry...so I had a pb & j (no sugar added to the jam or pb) on multi-grain bread

No fruit again yesterday!! I need to get better about that.

Nope, no journal for me... not sure I really would maintain it. I do have an online blog, and I try to post my progress on there..

Carissa... Well, I am sticking to those weight watchers points like glue! Drinking my water every day. I also use my AP points that I earn when I exercise... I seem to be eating all day! lol I am a snacker, so to suddenly go w/out, I couldn't handle.. I am also tracking my points online with WW's. I find that having to write it all down (which you do here) helps alot. My portion sizes have drastically gotten smaller. My only thoughts as to your stall is that since you are working out so much more than me, that it could be possible that you are not eating enough. Remember that when you work out, and burn calories, your body needs fuel.

Just a quick reply this morning. I haven't worked out for 3 days in a row!! Today I am back on track though. I plan to do a workout this morning. I have been eating ok though so I didn't totally go on a binge ;)

I'll report back either tonight or tomorrow morning.

Hey Carissa! You're forgiven!! You're so allowed to take a break every now & then!

Take care, and keep on journaling. We want to hear how you're doing, whether you're exercising or not! Thanks for checking in!

Thanks Kim :)

Yesterday I actually worked out! Did 3 miles of WATP!! I ended up doing something to my neck though. I got in the shower after my workout and turned my head and got the worst kink. Turned into a really bad migraine last night. Today the migraine is gone, but the kink is still there, worse than ever. I won't be working out today :( But tomorrow night my dh is off so I can walk with my neighbor again.

Breakfast: plum and nuts before workout and then pb and jam on multi grain bread afterwards

Lunch: bowl of homemade chicken and vegetable soup

Snack: more nuts

Supper: fish, rice and peas/corn

Snack: popcorn

I forgot to add that I'm down a bit on the scale. I've lost about 8-9 lbs since the beginning...almost down 10 lbs!

Breakfast: oatmeal w/ pb and jam

Snack: apple

Lunch: leftover soup and later I was still hungry so I had a pb and j sandwich

Supper: beef stroganoff (sp?)...a homemade low-fat version with a small amount of mashed potato and broccoli and one small cookie...kind of like fig newtons

My neck is feeling a bit better tonight so hopefully I'll be fine to workout tomorrow. I remembered that I can't go for my walk tomorrow night because it's Valentine's and we actually have a sitter! We're going to the movies.

Happy Valentine's Day!!

My neck was/is still hurting but I managed to do 2 miles WATP yesterday. Tonight I'll go for a 1 hour walk.

Breakfast: scrammbled eggs and a banana

Lunch: beans and toast

Snack: iced coffee and nuts

Supper: chicken salad at McD's

Snack: We went to the movies last night and saw "Kiss, Kiss, Bang, Bang" which was really funny and entertaining. I could watch Robert Downey Jr. all night long ;) Afterwards we were both hungry since we had a light supper so we went and had a snack. I had been planning something for a while so it wasn't a spur of the moment weakness. Chuck and I split a piece of apple/raspberry pie and a cider (hard cider). We also got an order of wedges with sour cream and sweet chilli sauce to share. These are very yummy and a big thing here in Australia. I ate the pie first which was the first baked good/sweets I've really had since December. It was very good and not nearly as sweet as most pies in the U.S. I ate a few of the wedges, but I realized I was really full and actually stopped! That's a big thing for me...for us actually. I was proud of both of us. Normally we would have finished those wedges no matter what, but we actually left quite a few behind.

A good day :)

Sorry about the neck kink. Those are awful!

Glad to hear its starting to get better.

I actually love to read about your food intake. I don't know if it's an australia thing, but beans & toast? What is that?

Keep up the good work! And an A+ for working out with a neck kink!!! :thumbsup2

Not really an Australian thing...I just had some baked beans and heated them up and had some toast on the side. We were very low on groceries ;)

Yesterday was a good day. Finally received my balance ball so I did a 30 minute workout on that in the morning. Then I walked for an hour last night. My upper body is quite sore today!

Breakfast: 2 pieces of french toast with jam

Snack: apple

Lunch: tomato and cheese sandwich on multigrain and carrot sticks

Supper: 2 soft chicken tacos w/ watermelon for dessert

Snack: WW icecream (2 points) before my walk and then popcorn afterwards...I'm so hungry when I get back from my walk! I end up eating way too late though since we don't walk until 7:30 or 8. Need to work on that.

Our internet was out last night and I've just been so busy. I'm not sure if I can remember what I ate yesterday but I'll give it a go!

Breakfast: shredded wheat/egg pancake w/ ketchup and cantaloupe

Lunch: leftover tacos

Supper: small serving of spinach fettucine w/ crockpot osso buco with squash and broccoli

Snack: made a small sundae with a container of WW icecream, 1/2 a banana and a sprinkling of chopped nuts...yumm!

I probably had a few other snacks, but I have a hard time remembering those...especially a day later! I also walked for an hour last night.

~Today~

Breakfast - multi-grain english muffin w/ a small amount of margarine and jam and a yogurt

Lunch - leftovers from last night...pretty much exactly the same things

Supper - WW pizza w/ a salad

Snack - popcorn

I was going to take the day off from working out today because I'm still sore and couldn't walk tonight (dh is working), but I did a new balance ball workout for about 30 minutes. Didn't like it as much as the other one, but it was ok.

You are still doing great girl! :)

I love to read what you are eating, too. You've given me some great ideas! :)

Thanks Holly :)

Breakfast: Montessori Muffins (recipe from a novel that I was reading)...these were very yummy! They're made with all whole wheat flour, molasses and prunes. The kids loved them too. I had 2 with some yogurt. It was a quick breakfast morning as Sully had T-ball.

Lunch: leftover pasta, osso bucco and squash

Supper: chicken thighs, brown rice and spinach

Snack: popcorn

I didn't workout yesterday as I was very tired. We had to get going early, like I said, for Sully's game. And when the kids had their naptime, so did I! ;) I'll be working out this morning though.

Two more sleeps and then I leave for my little vacation!! I don't know if I've mentioned it here or not, but I'm leaving on Tuesday afternoon for a short 3 night/2 day getaway with a friend. We're flying to Adelaide and have an appointment at a day spa on Wed. We plan on just relaxing and enjoying ourselves. I absolutely can't wait!! I've never done anything like this since having kids. The only night I've ever been away from them (not counting being in the hospital having my babies) was when Sully was 7 months old and my parents watched him for one night. I haven't been away from the kids for more than a couple of hours in a very long time. I am very ready for a break!! So I won't be checking into my journal Tuesday-Thursday.

Have a GREAT time Carissa! You deserve it!!! :thumbsup2

Thanks ladies...I intend to! :)

Yesterday I did 30 minutes of cardio (2 mile WATP) and then 20 minutes on the balance ball. I'm hoping to go for a walk tonight, but not sure I'll fit it in.

Breakfast: shredded wheat/egg pancake w/ ketchup and cantaloupe

Lunch: WW frozen meal (didn't fill me up for long)

Snack: nuts and multi-grain english muffin w/ margarine and jam

Supper: tuna casserole and peas

Supper: 2 montessori muffins

I'll try and check in tomorrow before I leave.

Hi Carissa!

Hope you're having a GREAT time!

I'm back! I had a great time although it seems I may have gotten a bit carried away on the eating and drinking as I've gained about 4 lbs :( We really didn't eat that horribly, but I did have a lot of mochas and some hard cider as well as desert two nights. But we did a lot of walking and figured that would balance everything....not!

I'm back on track now though. Went for an hour walk last night. I'm hoping the extra weight will come off quickly.

Thanks for checking in on me Kim! :)

Breakfast: shredded wheat/egg pancake w/ ketchup and cantaloupe

Walked for an hour again last night. I'm hoping to do my balance ball routine at some point today.

Didn't get to the balance ball yesterday. But I did finally get 3 new workout DVD's yesterday and I'll be doing one today...looking forward to it actually!

Breakfast: english muffin with egg and lf cheese

Lunch: leftover chicken, rice and squash

Snack: nuts

Supper: Shepherd's Pie with leftover squash and cukes

I've been having a really hard time with the eating since I got back from my trip. I want to eat anything and everything! I'm ok with the exercise, but I need to get back to eating well. Hoping the motivation will return soon.
