My DF and I are getting married in June 2015 and our reception is at the Whitehall Room. Our formal planning session is in January, but we're obviously trying to come up with a budget now. We want to have a caricature artist for 1-2 hours during the reception. I know this has been done before, so does anyone know how much it costs? Also, I'm assuming that the pictures are included in whatever the price is and that the guests do not have to pay for them once they're done, because otherwise we won't be doing it.
Any info, especially on pricing, would be great. Thanks!

We are doing the caricature artists at our reception as well.. We are having two of them for 4 hours.. We are being quoted $845 for each artist for 4 hours.. So I would assume 2 hours would cost half of that or about 422.50 or so... The pictures are free to the guests, however the floral planner will help with providing holders for the sketches.. I think they are costing like 2.00 for each cardboard mailing tube.. If I recall correctly each artist gets a 20 minute break per hour and can complete 8 black and white pictures per hour or 4 color pictures per hour..

So, just a heads up, but most entertainment elements (like caricature artists, magicians, DJs, muscians, etc.) are billed as a 3 hour minimum. If I remember (and I don't have any of my documents with me right now), I think it's around $645 for 3 hours per artist, but I'm sure someone can come and verify that/correct me. However, feel free to check with your planner on that!

Thank you both! Super helpful information. I think we definitely have room in our budget to make something work ☺️

If you're reception is in the WHR you may be able to hire an outside vendor for you pictures at a much more affordable rate.

Hello. We are getting married in November, but our wedding falls under the "old" pricing structure as we had starting talking to Disney in July 2013. We are having a caricature artist, and the previous poster is correct...you must book at 3 hour minimum, and our pricing for that was $645. We've extended to 4 hours, so are paying more than that, but that was the minimum.

Note: when I started researching this idea in early 2013, the price was $550 for 3 hours, so keep in mind that the prices can change...nothing is carved in stone until its in writing in your BEO.

Good luck!
Brooke

Awesome! We were actually expecting to pay closer to $1000 so $645 is definitely doable. And three hours would actually probably be more what we'd need anyway. Thanks for all the info!

While that's probably true, my fiancé and I went outside for photography, videography and flowers so we really need to start filling in our minimum enhancement expenditures.
