If you have had either for your reception was it a hit? I am thinking of one for our brunch. This would take the place of any favors. If everyone comes we will have about 20 guests with 10 of them being children. Thanks for your help.

I know this might be a little different but i had a charicature artist at my bat miztvah many years ago. Everybody loved it because it is something you don't see very often and its something that you can take home and keep forever. They also pack very tiny so it wouldn't be a burden for your guests to take home. The down side to balloons are that they pop or deflate but they would be great for the kids. :confused3 I don't know if any of this really helps but that's what i've experienced.

No offense but I think balloons are for children... it seems very silly for a wedding reception. I would go with the caricature artist if I had to choose.

i have heard that the caricature artists are really good in Disney.

Could you consider having the caricature artist at your wedding for the adults and have people take them for favours, and have Disney provide a (mickey heads?) balloon for every child? Its worth asking for the prices for 10 seperate balloons for favours for children? This way you can have both, and it would suit both the adults and the children?

Disney im sure do lots of other things for children for favours, you should ask you planner!?

No offense taken about the balloon artist. I would like to hear if anyone has had this option. I want it because it is child like and 1/2 our guests will be kids mostly from 5-7 years old. I am thinking they may like the sketches just as much and it is about $200 cheaper.

Maybe I shouldn't admit it but I have asked the planner about the circus room at EPCOT. Someone on the boards had a very elegant and expensive wedding and was put here for her dessert party because it rained. She said she didn't mind and her pictures looked really unique. I do think I will go with outside the GF and watching Wishes but I am looking at unique options (especially if half the guests are children)

I will ask our planner about kid friendly favors. I want the adults to be able to enjoy themselves and have the kids entertained (not babysat).

I think they both sound fun and entertaining, but caricature artist is my vote, bc your guests get to keep the pictures forever, and the balloons would eventually get thrown away.

Off Topic: Gasp! Wish on a Star! Aren't you supposed to be enjoying a honeymoon right now? :rotfl:

On Topic: Caricature artist gets another vote from me! :goodvibes

the bride i think you are talking about is Toni (DisneybrideToni) CHECK OUT HER PJ for photos! She has loads! - she was rained out of her Dessert party location and had this circus room- i will admit it looked really impressive! A totally unusual location! I say go for it, or at least get your planner to inform you about the room and give you more photos!

I am sure that your planner will think of plenty of ideas for the kids! Expensive and Inexpensive!

We had a balloon artist for an event that included an even mix of children and adults. He was fabulous at keeping the children entertained and the adults also loved making requests for the balloons. We had so many that we gave them away as we walked along the GF grounds...made lots more children happy :goodvibes

I just did the caricature artist at a breakfast, but it was just adult ladies. Again...really had a good time with lots of laughs. He would ask for something funny or unique to bring the drawings more meaning. Our photographer then arranged all of our drawings in a group and took a really great photo of them.

The kids ages seem old enough for them to sit for the artist and I bet they would love seeing the end result...especially if you can have him to add a favorite toy or a pet to the drawing. And they are a great keepsake. You might take some tubes or maybe photo mailers with you to make sure that they all make it home safe and sound. Ours were delivered to our room later in the day.

How about considering a silhouette artist?? I know of the one that works at Disney and she is great and does wedding receptions. Her name is Kathryn Flocken and her email info is Kathy@artlink.net I think a silhouette artist is very original and different.

Thanks everyone for all your suggestions.

What is the cost for the silhouette artist? Can she be at any reception location?

We are using Catherine for our vow renewal!!! We are having our reception at the White Hall room/patio. I will PM you the price. You have to provide her a table, 2 chairs and set it up near an outlet(she brings a light). I am really excited to have her at our reception. I think it will make a really cool, different favor for our guests.

If you do decide to have a silhouette artist, don't go through Disney. They wanted to charge me triple of what Catherine is charging me. I am not saying you have to use her, just she has a great reputation and a Disbride has used her and been happy.

I vote Caricture, Lots of people are allergic to Latex found in helium balloons. I'd actually have to leave the party myself. Unless you're sure no one is latex allergic or sensitive in which case either choice sounds like a blast
