We can have one or the other and I'm not sure which to pick. Does anyone have any info on the caricature? I think I read that they were $500 but I'm not to sure. How does the package work. I liked the idea of giving the guests a mickey hat with their names, but I also like the idea of having caricature. Which would you guys choose?

i love the pictures people like lurkyloo have of the whole wedding group in the mickey ears! my vote is there!

So last night I found the answer to my question. It was in the Disney Weddings and honeymoon book. I still don't know which to pick though.

If you want the pictures of your guests in the Mickey ears then go with Mickey ears. If you don't care much for the picture then go with the charactures (sp?). I think that is something really unique that you don't se everyday at a wedding. The guests can buy their own mickey ears @ most places in Disney if they want them.

You make really good points. I think I am leaning more towards the caricature, later I am going to talk to my fiance and see what he likes more.

my vote is for the caricature artist. I do love Lurkyloo's picture with the ears, but I think most guests will enjoy having the picture after the wedding. And it's something fun for them to do at the reception as well.

Although the caricatures would be a fun activity for the guests, to me there isn't anything uniquely Disney about them. You can have caricatures done at any theme park or attraction, really. So for a more Disney relevant memory of the wedding experience, I would vote for the Mickey Ears.

But I guess it really depends on what you want your guests to get out of either of the options.

We did both, I used the hats as placeholders at the tables...but if I had to pick one I would stick with the caricature artist! It was such an awesome experience, and all of our guests loved him, and the end result...he did them throughout the brunch and he was absolutely outstanding. I considered sourcing a caricature artist myself, as it would save a few $$, but in the end I went with Disney because then I knew I simply wouldn't have to worry about it. It was well worth the cost, and everyone agreed it was a fantastic alternative to "traditional wedding favors".

I agree!
Also many guests will wear the hat for a picture but then what do they do with it?! Especially if they don't LOVE Disney like we all do? The hats will just collect dust at someones home (if they even bring them home). The artwork on the other hand can be framed, or put in an album.
I vote caricature artist for the fun and the functionality of the gift :goodvibes

So we decided on the caricature artist! We would like both, but maybe if we come into some extra money! thanks a bunch for everyones comments, they really helped us decide. :)
