Has anyone stayed at the Caribe Royale 2 br villas?. Any photos or advice(pool, distance from WDW, food, amenities for kids, etc.) about this resort would be appreciated.

This is a fancy hotel just outside Disney at the end of I Drive and the crossroads. It does lots of conventions so is kind of high priced. The owner is very rich and has created this hotel to his standards. The location is good because of its crossroads location. You can enter Disney from the LBV entrance by Downtown Disney or cross directly across from hotel to the center Disney entrance by Epcot/MGM (each entrance is about 1/2 mile from hotel). This entrance also is the best because of its ease to get onto Buena Vista Drive in the center. (Buena Vista Drive is the main road connecting all of WDW). The location is also at the new" end of I Drive, near I4 and directly off the 417 (the fastest road to Disney from the airport). You can follow this section of I Drive right to Sea World with no traffic. Alot of the guests are well to do or business people. I previously lived in Orlando for a few years and worked market research in the area hotels for WDW. I always liked this hotel but I'm a budget shopper and it was out of my range. I never really looked for discounts on this property because I didn't think they did and it always seemed full. You wouldn't go wrong staying here!

I stayed there in Jan. '00 and would not call it "fancy". Yes, there are a lot of business people but that's bc the hotel caters to conventions. (The reason I was there.) The room was nice enough, very adequate, but absolutely not luxury. I would compare it to an Embassy Suites or a DoubleTree. The set up is good, as I believe all rooms are in a suite configuration. I seem to recall that the food was just "ok", but that may have been bc of the conference I was attending.

Be forewarned that to love this hotel, you have to like the color PINK! Everything was a shade of pink; it was too funny.

Hi, we just stayed at the resort for one night last week. It has a great pool area with a waterslide and waterfalls, kiddie pool and playground. The area around the pool is congested with chairs three deep, so we were crawling over other guests to get to the pool. We were there Easter week, so I am guessing maybe that is why it is so crowded. We stayed in a one bedroom suite and it was fine for the night. Major drawback for me is no balcony. Other small inconviences were microwave was literally at my knees, built into a cabinet, very strange configuration, also the ironing board was a mini with one inch high legs you had to put on a table to use and I had to get the safe key from the front desk, which I don't like. My husband and I are rather picky about our hotels. We have stayed at the Vistana Villages in a two bedroom villa and absolutely LOVED it. We stayed there twice, but now the price has skyrocketed so we tried this. I think the 2 bedrooms at Caribe are much nicer than the one bedroom. They also have 2 restaurants and a pool bar where you can get burgers, etc. It was very nice, but for the money I would stay at the VV again.
