Background: We have been to Disney many, many times and mostly stayed
on property. This is a very last minute trip during Feb. Vacation and we
are staying off property this time since we will not be spending as much
time at Disney as in previous visits.

We know where the two hotels are (have driven by numerous times), just
wondering opinions on one vs. the other. We are leaning toward Caribe for
the pool area, but if the weather isn't good for that which would you all
recommend?

Thanks for any input.

Deciding between them depends on what your priorities are.

The suites at the two hotels, which are under the same ownership, are essentially identical. However, the public spaces are quite different. Caribe is primarily a convention hotel, so it has a lot of extra amenities (very nice restaurants, business center, etc). BVS is geared toward families traveling on a budget.

Buena Vista Suites includes a free daily hot buffet breakfast. Caribe does not.

Caribe has a spectacular pool area. BVS does not.

Hope that helps!

It looks like Orlando is getting some nice weather down there and I'm sure you'll get a day that would be perfect for swimming! I would go with the Caribe Royale.I have never stayed there but I've heard (and read) that the pool area is great. Definitely go with the one that has the better pool!! You'll be glad you did.
I don't know if you'll find your dates available but I found a website that has really good prices for both the hotels your looking at. Try www.resideo.com
Good Luck and give us a review when you return!

I don't know if it still holds true or not, but I have read on these boards before that since they are under the same ownership, those staying at Buena Vista Suites are allowed to use the pool at Caribe Royal. It may be worth a phone call.

I'll save you the phone call. This is not true, unfortunately. I asked about it quite specifically when I was touring the BV Suites in preparation for adding them to my web site's Preferred list.
