Caribbean Resort or AKL?

Hello
We were due to stay at Animal Kingdom Lodge in September but I’ve just found out I’m due a baby at the end of August so holiday has been brought forward to early May. We will be travelling with a 4year old and a 2 year old.
We can move our booking but have been offered a cheaper alternative (£700) to stay at Caribbean Resort instead? We will have DDP included at both resorts.
Any help on which resort to choose would be appreciated as undecided as to what is best to do!
Thanks

Animal Kingdom Lodge is a very special resort. If the £700 is not that critical, I would stick with it. The children will love the animals. The swimming pool at Kidani has an exceptional children’s play area/splash pad. There is a shuttle bus that runs continuously between the two buildings.

I would do AKL in a heartbeat. Once upon a time I might have said CBR, but with the severely limited bus service to Epcot (and Studios, though I don’t go there as much) that virtually requires you to use the buckets (tried them, NOT a fan though I am in the minority there) it is now on my “only as a last resort” list.

I’ve never stayed AKL but I can tell you we love CBR. They also have a great, pirate themed splash pad for the kids. This resort is MUCH closer to all the parks than AKL. Other than Animal Kingdom you will be far. The Skyliner is extremely fast and can have you to Epcot or HS in much less than 10 minutes. CBR is beautiful, very good mattresses and pillows. Congratulations on your pregnancy and how exciting all that Disney Magic will be happening for you that much sooner.

We stayed at Animal Kingdom Lodge last summer. I choose pool view so we wouldn’t have a lot of walking. Loved it! It is now one of my favorites.

AKL is the most unique resort on property. The rooms are newly remodeled and the food at every restaurant is exceptional. Add in the animals and the fact that many of the CM's are from different regions of Africa and it makes it that much more special. I just love the architecture and details.

What pool view rooms are best. Staying there in June and want to request a good one.

We had one on the 4th floor Giraffe Trail. I loved it, nice view and close to the door that leads down to the buses. It was a short walk to the lobby also.

Will you spend a lot of time at your resort?
I absolutely LOVE AKL. The atmosphere, the food, the pool, the animals, the staff. It is a top notch experience.

I also like Caribbean Beach, and if the money was a big deal, or if I wasn't going to spend a lot of time at my resort, I would stay there too.

AKL. Its distance from the parks is irrelevant as compared how unique AKL is. As long as you don't mind spending the extra money.

Thanks.....I was looking at that as one of the options

I'd say because of the easy access to the parks (HS & Epcot) via the skyliner, i'd go with Carribean Beach!!!! Getting to those two parks will be a lot faster. Which is great when you have little kids. And i love that the resort has a zero entry pool ...perfect for little ones. :)

I've stayed at both and AKL will always win hands down for me. The resort is truly amazing. How can you beat waking up and looking at the safari from your bed (well should you book that view). Its my favorite resort followed by Beach Club. The pool is great and you have lovely restaurants on property.

However, if money is truly a factor then switch to CB.

Either way, you are in Disney and will have an amazing time.

So AK is a great resort; however, travel to the parks is long except for to AK. MK is the longest trip by far. So consider that it will take some time to get there and back.

So at CBR if you plan to do Epcot and HS and plan to do breaks at the pool midday then CBR will be easier to get to from those two parks. Plus not a bad bus trip to AK. The pool there is nice also. However, bus service to MK is not great.

If you don't mind the extra travel and the animals and pool are important then AK. Also good dining options for adults.

Given the ages of your kids it may be better to take what is easier and shorter for travel but that's a choice on what you think you can handle.

CBR has the Skyliner which can be convenient for Epcot and DHS but for the resort itself, I would personally do AKL!
