We're going to DW at the end of January. We're having difficulty deciding between Caribbean Beach and Coronado Springs. What do you recommend?

Having stayed at both.....CSR hands down is the better of the two resorts. Maggie

We have never stayed at CSR but I have some CBR pictures on the link below. They are from July 2006. Have fun choosing!

Reeely tough choice, as we loved them both. I think the real question is what themeing appeals to you most.

Pick the theme you like. That said, while I like them both, I'd stay at CSR. I really do like CBR and will stay there again...but I tend to like CSR more now. Used to prefer CBR, now prefer CSR. I dunno why exactly.

Not sure if this matters, but we've stayed at CBR before and enjoyed it. This time we're going with friends who have never been (4 adults, no kids).

The decison maker for us was at CSR

1.- Central AC ( I hate wall units- they are noisy, keep me awake and ugly)

2. The busses- not shared with any resort

3. Convention resort= less people at pool and busses- We went in late January and had absolutely no problem with busses. Often there were just a handfull of people on the bus.

4 Theming- I love the Mexico, southwest feel!

5. (didnt know this at the time but for your info) CSR has pillow top mattress- I slept very well- dont know the last time CBR was updated - maybe check on the updates on both resorts.

Make yourself a list of the pros and cons.

I would pick CSR again- We stayed in Casitas and it was such a relaxing atmosphere after all the hype at the parks!

CSR!! Check out my CSR website below for pics and info.

ps - the Caribbean Beach pool will be close 1/2008 until 6/2008

If the pool matters to you, I believe the CBR theme pool is scheduled to be closed in Jan.

CSR is currently not showing any availabilty online for late Jan (I'm looking at 16 to 27, but checked a week earlier and a week later), but I'm guessing it is a system glitch because it isn't showing anything for ANY 2008 dates that I've tried. I have a hard time beliving it is booked solid through the last 3 weeks of Jan, first week of Feb and last 2 weeks of April.

I have stayed at CSR but haven't stayed at CBR yet and was asking myself the same question. While I don't know what awaits me at CBR, I am leaning towards it because:

  • CSR rooms have only one vanity. For the two of us I prefer two vanities.
  • I hated the Pepper Market. I know many people like it, but I found the staff to be rude and the layout confusing. Gave it 3 tries and was unhappy each time. I vowed that wild horses couldn't drag me back into that place!

Otherwise CSR was o.k.

Never stayed at CBR, but only bc we love CSR so much! I never stay anywhere else now!

I have a love/hate thing going on with the Pepper Market myself. I love to eat there but I hate the fee. Really. A lot. HATE the fee. Pisses me off.

I've found the staff, though, to be really nice. Only twice were they unhelpful and that wasn't because they were rude. One was an older lady who didn't understand Dining Plan vs. No Dining Plan and the other didn't speak English very well. Other than that, the staff has been average to nice in my experience.

It is a little confusing the first time, but it is kind of fun, too. Like a Mexican village. :) And once you get the hang of it, it isn't confusing at all.

I WISH THEY WOULD GET RID OF THE FEE! I even tried to go and take the stuff outside to eat at the tables to avoid the fee. Of course, it rained. Argh. (The staff at CSR is always very on-the-ball with handing towels to people arriving in the rain which is more than I can say for the Poly.:rolleyes1 )

Stayed at both and CBR is abolutely hands down my least favorite resort of all I have stayed at. The theming was just okay and the resort layout itself was just too big and unfriendly.

I love CSR and given the choice, I would definitely stay there again. I wouldn't ever pick CBR again personally.

CSR is beautiful, but the food is not so good.
The scenery is great. I have never stayed at CBR, but have seen both and CSR is the most beautiful of the two.

I agree with Stinky-Pete about the Pepper Market. I found the food unappealing and lacking flavor. The stuff they referred to as Mexican food was AWFUL, but I think I was more turned off by the rude people working there.

If it's anything like last year, it didn't get added until late in the year.

That would be great if they did add DDP. We are still leaning towards staying there on our next trip Oct 2008
