I am currently looking for cruise for my USA trip next year which will end with a Disney Caribbean cruise. Most of the insurers require me to enter all the countries I will be visiting. However, I’m coming up blank for St Lucia. Does anyone have this type of insurer requirements? Is there another name of St Lucia that I am not familiar with?

OK so it looks like it is Saint Lucia (my cruise confirmation said St Lucia) but now some of the companies are not recognising any of the Virgin Islands… not all companies just some. There’s so much extra effort for cruising!

You can search the board for threads related to Saint Lucia (more results if you type St Lucia) and insurance. I have no experience and have always bought Disney cruise insurance. We insure and book our flights separately.

I would call the company you want to use to insure your trip. We just cruised Europe in August and my insurance company just wanted me to list the country we were starting in. We have cruised many times and have never been required to list every country we are going to.

I’m one of those people who will do everything possible to try to avoid having to make a phone call.

I guess it’s a list you get to choose from? Have you tried searching under L (like Lucia). I have seen in other contexts lists that would sort something with Saint at the beginning like this: „Lucia, St.“

Is this "cruise" insurance? Or general travel insurance? I got the impression from your first post that the cruise is only part of the trip -- I think that is why it's asking for all destinations. If you do 't like calling, try a chat feature. But honestly, to be sure you are buying the coverage you want/need, it really is best to have a conversation about the options.

Virgin Islands might not be recognized on their own, as they are territories of other countries. St. Thomas is part of the U.S. Virgin Islands, and would fall under the United States. Tortola is part of the British Virgin Islands and may then fall under United Kingdom. I found that out the confusing way when applying for Global Entry and having to enter all of my previous travel.

Unfortunately after a lot of time reading different policies and selecting the one I wanted, chasing the company about my enquire regarding their coverage on the Virgin Islands, and so on…. I found out that this particular company is underwritten by an insurer that doesn’t cover Virgin Islands. So back to the beginning again. Thankfully I’m not travelling for a while.
