Hi! I am fairly new to this site and I am currently planning our next WDW vacation in May 2003. We have decided on the Caribbean Beach Resort. Does anyone have any comments, pictures about this resort or suggestions for room locations? We are three adults traveling with no children. We rent a car so being close to the bus stop or food court is not as important as a quite, peaceful location. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

We stayed at the CBR last summer and it was wonderful. We were in Martinique building 25 which is right near the food court and beach. I noticed that Jamica looked very beautiful. Barbados and Trinidad South are the furtherest away from everything if you're looking for solitude. I don't think you can go wrong with any village that you stay in. Here are three websites with great pictures. Enjoy your stay!

I've stayed at CBR twice, May 2001 and Feb 2002. Both times we were in Martinique 25 which is a great location because it's convenient to everything, yet we never heard noise from anywhere. I believe ALL of CBR is quiet and relaxing. Of course, you never know when a family or group of noisy people could end up in the room next to yours.
If you like to walk, you could request a village further away from the main pool/food court area, you might consider that to be more peaceful since you'd have to walk around the resort a little more than if you were closer. This is a beautiful resort to explore :) I have a lot of pictures of CBR on my web sites, the links are below. Enjoy! :)

P.S. Please keep in mind that many web sites have pictures of what the old CBR rooms look like. All of the rooms at CBR were completely refurbished as of last year. To see what these new rooms look like, you can click on the CBR logo below in my "signature". "Our Laughing Place" web site which someone listed above also has current room pictures and some beautiful pictures of the property at CBR :)
Also: NONE of the pictures you will see right now, early December 2002, will be correct for what the NEW food court area will be because it's currently being totally remodeled, and will be reopening at the end of this month. I'm excited to see what the new food court and new restaurant will be like! :)

We stayed at CBR in September, 2001. It is beautiful, if a little spread out. We were in Jamaica, building 45. This is close to the parking lot, so it might be convenient if you're driving. It's also directly across from the main pool/food court area. You just cross the bridge through Parrot Cay, and you're there. You won't convince me that it would be nicer if you didn't see Parrot Cay (lush, jungle theming and piped in Caribbean music).

By the way, the pool is really fabulous.

Ciao,
Mort.

Greetings from the UK

We spent 3 glorious weeks at the CBR in August. We stayed in Trindad North, building 32. Our room was right opposite the beach area.

It was only approx 5 min walk to the foodcourt area and main pool.

The pool near our room was always very inviting! I have not stayed in any other Disney Resort, but the layout of the CBR makes it very relaxing, with no main "lobby" area, etc. The housekeeping staff were always on hand if we needed anything for our room.

Transportation to/from the parks worked very well for us.

I am now having to save my "pennies" for the next time!!!!

Best wishes Bill & Linz

Thanks so much to all of you! Your information has been so helpful! It looks like we can't go wrong no matter which building we pick!

I want to add:

I strongly suggest NOT taking a room in Trinidad SOUTH. Trinidad NORTH is fine though, it's close to the main pool and food court area. Trinidad SOUTH is extremely far from the rest of the resort, there's even an actual road that cuts Trinidad South off from the rest of the resort. It's not even about being "close" to the main pool or food court, every time I pass Trinidad South it looks as if it's not even part of CBR.

I completely agree with SeaSpray about Trinidad South. We just stayed at CBR in August. We stayed at Trinidad South and it was very far away from the food court area. When we first got there, we purchased the refillable mugs so we could get free soft drinks, etc. But after you spend all day at the parks, the last thing you want to do is walk 10-15 minutes to get to the food court from Trinidad South.

Nevertheless, I would still highly recommend CBR. CBR was my first Disney Resort vacation, and it is a great place to stay. But if you can get Martinique, I would recommend that area of CBR.

Good luck!
