Caribbean Beach Resort ?

Thinking of staying here but was wondering if the extra money for the pirate themed room is worth it & where are they located? Would really like to stay near the main pool. Which buildings are these & which would you recommend I ask for? Thank you for your help.

The Pirate Themed rooms are the furthest island (Trinidad South) away from OPR where the main pool, food court, sit down restaurant, gift shop, etc is located. It's about a 10-15 minute walk depending on your speed and whether you have small children to tote around. The Preferred Rooms are closest to OPR in Martinique and Trinidad North. The best standard rooms would be Aruba 51, 52 and Jamaica 45, 44 and 46 as they sit closest to the bridge that leads to OPR and is a 5 -10 minute walk. I LOVE the Aruba and Jamaica section! We always stay in the Jamaica section. It is a very short walk over the bridge to the food court and main pool. We love CBR!

If you want to be as close as possible to the main pool then you'll need to pay extra for and reserve a "preferred location" room. As noted above, the Pirate rooms (which cost the same amount extra per night as the preferred location rooms) are the furthest away from the main pool of all the rooms in CBR. All of the Piate rooms are in that farthest village, Trinidad South ... there are no Pirate rooms in any other village.

If you want to stay as close as possible to the main pool but don't want to pay for preferred location, the 3 closest "standard" guest room buildings are Aruba 51, Jamaica 45 and Martinique 22.

I have done Martinique twice and Aruba once. Had a great time all three visits. Martinique was closer(paid for preferred)but Aruba was right over the bridge, literally a five minute walk.

Pirate rooms may be fun but they are a hike. They had to do something to entice people to stay in Trinadad south. Personally i would never stay there, no matter how unique or fun the room was.....

I love the Jamaica area. Close to bridge over to main pool & food, also bus stop. Jamaica is often the first to be picked up & dropped off, depending on the route bus takes.
We were in Jamaica 42, on lake path and close to quiet pool. I loved this location. While it's not the closest to the bridge, it's still a short walk. And it's very enjoyable walking around CBR, the landscapping is beautiful.
