Caribbean Beach Resort

Which rooms have a king size bed in them?

Leslie

I was told the other day that all the buildings have rooms with king sized beds, except for Trinidad South.

At the moment, I am trying to decide if I want to get a preferred room and request a king sized bed, or get a king bed room and request one of the semi-close buildings.

We stayed there in August (gotta love free dining). We had not stayed there in years, but we decided to go with it for this past vacation. We loved it!!!! We had two rooms in Aruba. We wanted connecting, but they didn't have it and gave us adjoining rooms which worked out perfectly. Out housekeeper was excellent. The rooms were very clean, we had towel animals, plenty of supplies, etc. The food court was great. We only had breakfast there, and enjoyed it. I am the wrong person to ask about how large a resort it because my family loves to walk and never thinks anything is a long walk. We didn't use the main pool but it looked like everyone was having a great time. We used the "quiet" pool. What I like about the CRB is all the pools. You really can almost have the pool to yourself sometimes. The resort was just as beautiful and peaceful as I remembered. We would stay again.

Enjoy The Magic!!

Glad to hear that you had a great stay. I agree with you about the walks....no walk is too long at the CBR because the grounds are so very pretty.

Will you be posting pictures or writing a trip report? If so, please post a link so we can take a look-see.

Several of you will be at CBR when we are there! We are going to be there from Oct 23- 31. We stayed at CBR in '07 and LOVED IT. We stayed at POR in '08 and although we really enjoyed it we missed CBR. I really didn't get the whole "too much walking" thing when I was there. We got a room in Jamaica and it was a short walk over the bridge (which is beautiful in the mornings) to Old Port Royal. Then we got on the bus stop there after we ate breakfast. Now POR I felt like I walked MILES everyday.

We are going in two weeks and are so excited! We picked the CBR because of the beach. Hopefully it will be nice enough to enjoy swimming.

Don't know if it is what you meant...but you can not swim in the lake that the beaches are around.

We stayed there for the first time in December and loved it. We had a pirate room and I wouldn't do that again - it was just too far from the main pool and food court for me - but we enjoyed the resort atmosphere and the pool area so much that I've suspended my quest to stay in every resort to return to CBR for our March trip.

The rooms are a nice size, larger than the other mods, and the resort was peaceful and quiet while we were there even though our first night (tail end of Pop Warner) and last night (start of Christmas break) were at 100% occupancy.

The bus service was excellent and there was a CM at our stop monitoring the frequency and balance of buses in the mornings. We had one day where three AK buses came during the 15min we waited for our Epcot bus, and he was on his little radio reporting the problem while making notes on the chart he was keeping. It was good to see that level of attention to detail/guest experience.

I love the tropical feel, particularly since we leave behind Michigan winters to go to Disney, and the kids had a great time playing on the beach. And the zero entry pool and water play area are spectacular, particularly when traveling with young children. That's what really swayed me into going back in March; our youngest is two, and I don't want to give up the zero entry pool to try a different mod.

The food court has a good selection (which is something I miss when we stay deluxe). Most of what we had there was snacks and fruit, but the couple meals we shared were solid counter service food, nothing special but fresh and hot (or cold, in the case of my salads :) ).

I actually liked the Nemo room my mom had better than the pirate room we were in; it felt more airy and tropical, and while the pirate room details are very cool it isn't something I'd pay extra for again.

We are really, really looking forward to going back. Of the resorts we've tried CBR is a solid second on my favorites list, behind only the Beach Club (which is spectacular, but frequently out of our price range!).

We just returned yesterday from a 10 stay at CBR. It was very nice ! we stayed in Jamaica 45. Great location. Only 2 things really disappointed us. The main pools big water slide was closed the entire time we were there. The main reason we chose CBR was for the water slide for my kids. They were very upset. I checked the website the day we left and they never mentioned anything being closed for refurb etc.
The first 8 nights were quiet but on the 9th night a family checked into the room next to us with a baby. You could hear every word they said to one another and the baby cried nonstop. It sounded like the baby was in the same room as us. Very thin walls. None of us slept well the last 2 nights.
We booked again for CBR next year ! We will give it another try :)

I will be checking into the CBR on Saturday and I can't wait!

We chose this resort because we got married in the Caribbean in 2009.

Checking in tomorrow  We've stayed at ASMu and POFQ previously, and we're looking forward to the "beachy" feel of CBR

We have stayed there 5 times and loved it...one time was with the Pop Warner kids LOL

DH got to pick our resort this time and he wanted to go back to the CBR, I booked a king bed but requested a preferred room...love that it is so quiet and relaxing and we feel like we are in the Bahamas! Everytime we go we spend time at the pool with a few banana daquiries and chill out :lovestruc

We will be at CBR for the first time in 11 days. We have only stayed at the value resorts previously and I remember we did a lot of walking, because we seemed to get placed in the farthest building from the food court and bus stop. My DH is glad there are only 2 floors. Glad to read the positive posts and get the helpful tips. Looking forward to having a great time relaxing at the resort.:cool2:

Curious how you like the CBR resort compared to the POFQ. Seems alot of people here like the CBR, at least in this thread. I just came back from the CBR a few weeks ago. I enjoyed Disney as always so it does not matter where I stay. But the CBR wasn't what I like in a resort. Everyone is different and it being a large resort, there must have alot of return visits.

We loved CBR when we stayed there in 2006, and will be returning this January. It was very quiet, even though all the rooms around us were full -- heck, there was even a bit of a hurricane and we didn't even hear the wind! You will hear Epcot's fireworks show every night though. :)

It seems like it's the guide books that complain about how far all the buildings are from Old Port Royale (the main building with the big pool, the food court and restaurant, etc.), but we were at one of the further out villages and it only took like 10 minutes to walk over there. Coulda walked faster but I was on vacay...

The little pools in each village were a godsend at the end of a long day in the parks.

I almost booked a preferred room but I'll admit it the kid in me had to have the pirate room pirate: and once I showed my fiance the pirate room (he's a much bigger kid than me) he was like YES! And then afterwards he was like I'm going to talk like a pirate the whole time we are in there :lmao:

I really liked the boat from POR and the pool of CSR but from all the pictures the moderate I liked best overall was CBR obviously. It looks amazing.

Mickeytoontown, I don't do trip reports and am not techno enough to post pictures, BUT if you have any questions I would be happy to answer. We go to Disney 3-4 times a year and almost always have lunch there during our trips. The resort holds a warm place in my heart because my kids loved it when they were little. My son was really into pirates (come to think of it he's 22 now and would do just fine playing Captain Jack at Disney LOL!!). They didn't have the pirate rooms back then, but my kids always enjoyed the "pirate" pool. I know the resort very well. Someone asked about the difference between CRB and PO and really to me it's about the theme. Both have wonderful pools and great landscaping. PO has the advantage of two food courts you could use, two main pools, two gift shops. CRB is my fav moderate because of the beach theme. My family loves the islands so for us it's a great resort. Personally ai think you have to stay at a resort to really know if you will like it or not.

Enjoy The Magic!!

We will be checking in on thursday:yay: This will be our first time at a mod. Hoping to have a more relaxing trip which is why we picked CBR. Bring on the low crowds and free dining. Hope all have a great trip.

You will love this resort! We have stayed there many times over the years. It has a fantastic tropical...very relaxing! :goodvibes

I noticed your user name is hamm...thats my maiden name, have relatives out in Texas...around Ft. Worth ( I think..been over 25 years since we were out there :confused3). They came from Muhlenberg Co. Ky.

Believe me....if I can figure out how to post pics, you could. I am soooooo not computer illiterate.:upsidedow

We fell in love with the CBR from the minute we stepped foot on the grounds five years ago. I agree with you all the way.:thumbsup2
