Caribbean Beach Resort

Has anyone stayed here lately? I was thinking about going in May2002. How does this compare to the Grand Floridian? Are the parks crowded in middle May?

I've stayed at AllStar Sports and The Beach Club the last 2 years.

I'm a little bummed because I thought the CBR was the GF. I thought I would be right next to the Magic Kingdom. Now it turns out I'm out past Epcot.

CBR is a beautiful resort. It doesn't compare to the GF but it sure is a lot cheaper. We have stayed at CBR many times and really feel like we have escaped to the Islands. It does not take a long time to get to any of the parks from CBR.

If you are looking for any info on WDW, you have come to the right place!
We have been to CBR twice and plan to return in June.
CBR is a beautful resort. They have a beach and marina. All the rooms have just been refurbished. They are finishing up some work on the food court and pools, but it is minimal from what I understand.
Check this site and keep reading the boards and you will be linked to MANY sites with pictures and info.
I am not sure what kind of rate you got, but there is a discount page here.....check it out
Alot of discounts expired on March 17. But there is an American Express discount that is still available til 3/31.
And we all expect more discounts to be made available in the coming weeks.

As for traveling in May......in general....it is a great time to go. Crowds are not as heavy as summer or holidays or spring break.
There are some weekends that tend to be more crowded though. For example Memorial Weekend and Mother's Day. They also have "Grad Nights" which are usually the last weekend in April, first 2 in May. Check the schedule on this site.
during those weekends, there tend to be alot of teenages. And the event is after closing, but alot of them will stay the weekend.

And the weather is almost perfect this time of year. Not too hot or humid.
Look around this site and any more questions that you have there are tons of people that can answer them for you.

Thanks everybody. I will take a look at the pictures on your sites. I love pictures

I must have some luck on my side because I called Disney direct, on Tuesday the 19th, and still got the discounted rate. I used my personal discount code on the flier that was mailed to me in Feb. I have 12 nights reserved for under $1200. I think I will need to make some minor changes to the dates but I don't think it will be a problem.

The local travel agency did say that flights are limited and are starting to fill up quick.

My reservation is on hold for 12 more days. I gots to make up my mind soon. I'm leaning towards getting the room only and possibly buying annual pass. I think the annual pass were cheaper then the length of stay passes.
