Does anyone have any good suggestions for a room request/building for CBR? My DS and his gf will be going down 3/5/06 and they orginially booked a building @ CBR that is so far from everything that they will need a tram or something??? not quite sure what he was talking about, anyway to get to the buses just to get to the Parks. Now he wants to change from that building to another building @ CBR! Any thoughts/ideas would be awesome! :cool1:

CBR is a great place. Because they won't give you your room number until check-in, he may very well end up close to the bus stop where he can catch the buses to the parks. On the other hand, if he is located far from the food court, there is an internal bus that circles through the resort and can take him to the food court when he wants -- but it's honestly not usually that far, despite what you may read on these boards at times.

There are bus stops in every village at CBR, and none of the buildings are terribly far from a bus stop. Safetymom has a map of CBR posted on her web site -- the link to it is:

I think your DS and his GF will love CBR -- tell them to have a great time -- I wish we were going that soon!

Thanks for the info.

I too am going for the first time to CBR in a few weeks (3/2-3/7) and was afraid of the walk to the bus stop.

There are 7 bus stops at CBR, one at each village, plus one at Old Port Royale (food court, main pool, gift shops). NO ONE, repeat, NO ONE has a room that's far from a bus stop. Let's say he wants to go to Magic Kingdom. The Magic Kingdom bus makes a circuit around to EACH bus stop before it goes to Magic Kingdom. He'll never have to take a bus to get to a bus! Now, if his room is kinda far from Old Port Royale, say in Trinidad South, he has the option of catching an internal shuttle to get to Old Port Royale. The internal shuttle is just another Disney Transport bus, no smaller, no bigger, and it's not a tram or anything like that. But CBR is lovely to walk around in.

It also seems surprising that he KNOWS that he'll be staying in a buidling far from Old Port Royale. Rooms aren't actually assigned until a few days prior to arrival. More likely, all he knows is that he's not staying in the 6 buildings closest to OPR, since they cost more and are reserved rather than requested (it's called "preferred location").

If he's young and not injured or ill, he won't have any problem walking around CBR from any spot to any other spot. Does he go to college? I had further walks on campus between classes (at Dinosaur University, GO FOSSILS! :cheer2: ) than the distance from Trinidad South to OPR.

I'm sure he'll love CBR and WDW!

HAHAHA, CleveRocks: Thanks to ALL posters for their awesome responses...you all ROCK...anyway, yes, he was told when he called WDW that he could reserve a room in Trindad South, which the CM said was very quiet. DS and his DGF thought that would be awesome, until he read in The Passporter about the building being a little far out and needing to use the internal shuttle. They only have four full days at the Parks and wanted to be doing everything possible and thought being a distant from the bus stops would be a pain BUT all you fab people on these DIS boards have cleared that up for ME and I am going to tell him to keep that room and not change a thing. Yes, DH(Masters) and DGF(Senior) in college so they are very capable of doing allot of walking with no problem.

I'm sure everyone who replied is very happy to help.

I lived in Cleveland Heights for 3 years in the late 90's. Yes, I was one of those East Siders. I loved the area, too. I moved out 7.5 years ago and I still miss it! My job took me all over the area, including a place on Stearns Road probably around your old way. I used to love popping into Great Northern Mall.

I traded being a few miles from Lake Erie for being a few blocks from the Atlantic Ocean, and traded lake effect snow for tidal flooding.

Stay warm and dry up in Boston!
