Caribbean Beach Resort vs PoP Century (Transportation)

I am reading more and more about lines to get on buses, get on the skyliner. Less wait is pretty important to me. I am considering changing from PoP Century to CB for a couple of reasons. One, the skyliner is a central location there and two, the rooms are a bit bigger than PC. I would love opinions about wait times for buses/skyliner at both locations. Is it considerably less at CB? Noticeably different? I also want to mention I will need to use a Scooter because I have a bad back.

Would you say changing for space and transportation wait times is worth it? If wait time for bus and skyliner are pretty similar, I may stick with PC.

I would switch to CBR personally. The skyliner station to DHS is there so there is no transfer at all. Its also an easy walk to Riviera to use there skyliner station for direct service to Epcot. It also gives you the option of hoping on a bus back to Riviera as well. The bus is different at CBR because they have multiple stops so there is time wasted there. However if youre in Aruba or Martinique you could walk to Riviera and use there busses which is a one stop thing.

I always see this point made of direct service to Epcot from the Riviera and am confused.

Has it changed to make you get off at Riviera and get back on again? When the skyliner opened, you just stayed on through the station and did not have to get off and reboard. Ergo it was still direct service (meaning no change of equipment). Has that changed?

No. You can just stay on and go through. There is not just that awkward part where the door opens and you stay seated while CMs and guests stare at you. lol

I asked this on the transportation board also, but thought it might get more traction here.

What time should you line up at CBR or Riviera to take the Skyliner to Epcot if you want to get there as early as possible?

Also, is it better to line up at the CBR station or the Riviera station?

Epcot doesn’t seem as nuts as DHS so I would say around 10-1015 for a 11 opening. Riviera is closest to Epcot and there’s no switch station to Epcot like CBR with DHS so I don’t think it matters too much

I’m also trying to decide on this. It would be about a $200 difference for us to switch from pop to cbr. We are doing a split stay already between pop and bcv so deciding if I should do cbr and bcv. It would be a standard view pirate room. I’m just a little nervous about the busses so would the busses be better at cbr for MK and AK?

The people at Riviera have to wait for an empty car to be sent through from CBR or people to get off to be able to load, so I'd get on at CBR to go to Epcot.

Ah, what a great point!

To the OP's question about using a scooter, I'm wondering about that as well as we will have one for my mom. From what I have read, I believe there are the occasional cars set up for wheelchair/scooter access. Is that right? So looking forward to being able to throw my 5-year-old on my mom's lap. :-)

All stations except Riviera have a dedicated handicap loading area. A cabin comes off the line and stops completely for loading and unloading.

Thank you! I'm glad we don't have to go through the humorous yet difficult challenge of cruising a scooter on a moving cabin. :-)

I was able to take advantage of the 35% off resort pricing so we moved to CBR for an additional hundred something. I think that is worth it.

For $200, I’d say switch or CBR. You’re already ahead of the game with BCV. Walking distance to EP and HS.

Last week, I was in a line at the CBR station which fed both EPCOT and Hollywood Studios after splitting at the top of the station. Once I reached the top of the station, I was split off to the EPCOT line and waited there for the EPCOT line to start taking on passengers. This was scheduled for 10:30 but guests were allowed to board starting about 10:08.

You would need to plan on getting to the station early in order to be at the front of the line. I was in the DHS/EPCOT line for about 25 minutes and then waited for about 15 minutes after the split before guests started boarding the EPCOT line. There were probably 20 groups waiting ahead of us; the queue area where we were waiting was full and I don't know if the line stretched down the ramp but I'd guess that it did. I'd say you need to get to the CBR station 9:30 or earlier based on my experience.
