Hi All,
We just returned from our stay at the Caribbean Beach Resort. What a disaster. They put us in building 53 which the landscape was being redone. They had equipment(stump grinders, fork lifts, etc.) running all day. You could not go to the room during the day and rest. The remote control only worked half the time. To flush the toilet you had to hold down the handle for several seconds. The paint was peeling off the wall in the bathroom. And we waited approx 30 minutes for the bus while we were at MK, downtown disney and epcot.

I have sent an email to guest relations and am waiting to see if what they have to say.

So if anybody is staying at the Caribbean Beach soon, please ask if they are landscaping around the building you have been assigned. IF so, ask for a different room. TRUST ME.

:sad1:

Eek!!!my family and i are staying there and we arrive friday morning! i hope we get a good room.

Was the resort full? Did you request to be moved?

I'm sorry you had such a bad time. We love CB and hope to return soon. Disney should get back to you soon, if not I would call CB myself.

Did you contact management while you were there? Did you give them a chance to make it right for you?

If that happened while I was there, I would have asked for a different room on the first day.

I had to hold down the handle on my toilet too. I thought they were all like that down there.:confused3

I wonder if the noise affected all the buildings? I'd rather move to an unaffected room as soon as possible than write an email after I get home.

One good thing I have experienced is when there has been a problem with a room, Disney has been very accomodating about moving us to something different.

They were doing some landscaping work while we were there in June. I noticed that they did most of it during the hours that most guests were in the parks. Look at it this way, at least Disney is trying to keep up the grounds and keep it looking good.

I, like previous posters have said, would have contacted the front desk and asked to be moved. If the resort wasn't at capacity, I think they would have been accommodating.

Regarding the toilets, I think it just depends on the manufacturer. My mom's toilet is like that and it is brand new. Our office toilet is like that also.

We have really enjoyed both of our stays at the CBR and am sorry to hear about your problems.

I was at CBR in late August and stayed in 51 and had no problems. Room was fine, area was quiet and buses ran great. Amazing what just a couple of weeks can change...I'm glad we were there when we were.

We were there Mid August and had no problems at all. We had a SUPER time and cannot wait to go back again!
