Caribbean Beach Resort FAQ's Part II

If bell services stores your carry on bags for you until your room is ready, will they just deliver them to your room when your room is ready, like they do the ME luggage?

If our room is not ready, do we still get keys? Or do we have to stop by custom house after we get back from the parks late that evening?

This is all new to me (as my friend usually gets the room and we usually get in late in the day, but this time we're flying in early).

I am hoping our room will be ready when we arrive, i think we land at the airport at 3:30 so by the time we get there I am optimistic it will be ready. I am trying to avoid leaving my bags with anyone. I would rather just keep it with us, to avoid any mishaps. not that there is anything valuable in there, but its just the idea.
I never check luggage anymore ever since we flew from Florida to Pennsylvania for our wedding, and they( the airline ) misplaced my luggage with my wedding gown in it.
They did find it about an hour later, but that hour was spent in severe emotional distress!!!!!

If your room isn't ready, you will still receive your room key (which will also be loaded with your tickets and Dining Plan credits, if you bought them, as well as with your room charge information if you agreed to set one up). You can go and use your tickets (if they're on your room key) and charge away on your room charge (if you set one up) and eat using your DDP credits (if you bought the Dining Plan).

The front desk will give you a card with a phone number to call on your way back to the resort. You call this number and find out your room number. If you have been assigned a room number, then your room keys (which are in your hands) are now active as hotel room keys, and they will unlock your room door. You can skip the front desk and just go directly to your room; this is especially convenient at CBR, as the Custom House is a far walk from several of the villages.

In other words, you don't have to wait in line again to find out your room number and gain access to your room.

No need to bump the thread. All the resort threads are contained in a sticky at the top of the resorts board.

This question is for those who have stayed at other MODs.

We've stayed at CSR and POR and Visited POFQ?
We really enjoyed both of the PO Resorts are Our Favorite MODs,
and CSR is a Close 3rd.
How does CBR compair to POR, POFQ or CSR?

This would be our last MOD to try and have no desire to go
to Value, Can't afford Deluxe,
I like the relaxed feeling of the MODs and Price is right.

First, thanks to everyone on this thread who posted pics and great reviews.

I am soooooo glad that we gave CBR a try. We just got back yesterday after a wonderful 8 day stay. It was our first time at this resort. We loved it so much I made a bounceback ressie for the same time next year. :thumbsup2

We arrived on Magical Express. Our arrival at the airport until the time we arrived at our resort was quick and easy. The line at check in was huge. We we were in and out with our room keys in about 15 minutes. I was really impressed. Bell services arrived with our bags about 4 hours later along with our groceries from Garden Grocer. No complaints there either.

Our room was in Trinidad South. After reading many reviews of this resort, I was apprehensive about the room location but decided to go with it. I am so glad we did. It was a very quiet and beautiful location. Mousekeeping was awesome. No towel animals, but the room was spotless when we returned each day.

It was a very nice walk to Old Port Royale. My kids loved the main pool and also spent time in the quiet pool at our location. DH loved the Banana Cabana. :drinking1 The food was really quite good at the food court. We also had the pleasure of eating dinner one night at Shutters and we thought it was very good. One of our best meals of the trip.

I also thought the bus transportation was really great, quite efficient. We never had a long wait at all.

All and all, our experience at CBR was very good, and we can not wait to return.

New CBR fan!

Denise

Denise, DH and I are at CBR (room 3248) as we speak. We love it here and I want to ditto everything you already mentioned. We thoroughly enjoyed Shutters and the food court. Mousekeeping has been wonderful and the bus system has been very timely. CBR is beautiful on a sunny morning and the walk around the resort is great. Safetymom, thank you so much for all the help you give us. Your info has been right on! :thumbsup2

I'm thinking about staying at CBR next December. My perfect room would be in a preferred location-king bed! I know, picky, picky, picky! How hard would it be to get that??? I haven't booked yet, but when you do it on the official disney site it makes you choose either preferred or king bed.

I requested preferred King and just received the preferred. In the end (we are still here) its all good. I slept so well with a bed to myself...seriously.

My family's plane arrives at MCO at 12:55 pm, what time can we expect ME to arrive at CBR and finally, what is the likelihood that our room will be available when we arrive? Just curious, as we were planning to go to DTD, then head to our dinner ressie and onto Epcot for the evening EMH to ride a few rides that will be open. Thanks!!

Just a couple of weeks ago, our flight arrived at 11:30 AM and once we got down to the level of the Disney Welcome Center, it was very organized and lines moved quickly. Once we got on ME, CBR was the first stop, followed by BC and YC(I think) and I believe it was a 35 minute drive. It was not bad at all. We were at the resort around 1:00 pm and our room was ready. We were psyched!

Just plan on not having your luggage for a few hours, so have what you need with you.

Have a great trip.

Denise

I am so glad you are enjoying it. :thumbsup2 DD is bugging me to try and fit another trip in in May. Guess I will have to see what I can come up with.

As the song goes..Now its time to say good-bye to all our company...in other words, this will be my last post from my bed in room 3248 at CBR. :sad1: But...this trip has been THE best. As I may have mentioned earlier, this was our first long WDW trip as just the two of us. It was perfect in every sense of the word. Also, this time we have our dog Lucy that is waiting for us to come home. That makes it a tish easier to go home. We miss her terribly. We have truly enjoyed ourselves at CBR and will miss that morning stroll to Old Port Royale for our morning coffee. Let it be known that with our 9 nights spent here, not once did we use our coffee maker in the room. To anyone that has never stayed at CBR before and will be here in the near future, trust me...you will not regret booking your trip here. Thank you, Safetymom, for sharing your passion and knowledge of this wonderful resort. My husband and I truly appreciate it.

I am so happy to read of your wonderful stay at CBR!!! Glad you had a great time! We will be there in November, i can't wait!!!!:yay:

I hope no one takes this statement the wrong way, but I have come to the conclusion that experience of taking a trip to Disney World is identical to natural child birth. I say this because every time I go there, I promise myself I will NEVER put my body, mind or spirit through that kind of grueling stress again! But, just like child birth, once I’ve rested up, and the sore and painful muscles have had time to heal, I start thinking about how much the experience really meant to me after all.

We loved CBR through and through and I will soon post a fully detailed CBR review but for now I'm just trying to get everything in the house and home back to running smoothly again. Just wanted to let everyone know I hadn't forgotten to post.

When you are at the Trinidad North and South bus depots, you can see buildings over the green foliage. What are those buildings? It almost looks like condos or hotel buildings.

We are planning to spend our first Sunday relaxing by the pool prior to attending MNSSHP...

Can we get something to eat at the pool (the main pool with the slide)?

Is the food court nearby? Can we go in with swim suit covers on and eat? Can we get our stuff to go?

Just trying to get this all figured out. :)

Brenda, the food court is right there next to the main pool and you can go in with a cover-up. Folks were taking food as carry-out all the time. Enjoy and have fun!!!
