Caribbean Beach Resort FAQ

While we were there a majority of the time, Jamaica was the last to be picked up to go to the parks which is good so you don't have to go stop to stop. And the first as you are dropped off from the parks. However, they have been known to go the reverse route also.

Glad I found this thread! We just booked our first stay at CBR for September with the new rates that just came out.

On the DVD, it shows sailboats. I hope they really do have them because my DH wants to go sailing (we just did this at the GF).

The pictures of this resort look great! We can't wait!

Because of the new rates I will now be staying at the CBR from 9/25 to 10/9. I have been to WDW 8 times with 6 of those stays at the CBR for a week or more. I have two questions, though.

This time because of the special code I will have two reservations at the CBR: 4 days from 9/25-9/29 and 10 days from 9/29-10/9.
What do I need to do when I checkin the first time so that I will not have to change rooms after 4 days?????

Secondly, I am a diabetic with neuropathy (nerve damage to my feet). I know that the two closest "islands" are now preferred and cost extra. What is the next best to request???? Or, should I just put the problems on my reservation and let WDW go from there???? (I will be arriving after 5:00pm so I am worried about availability at that time).

Thanks for any assistance, Cindy :earseek:

The sailboats are for decoration only. The last time I was there the sailboats weren't anchored in the lake either like they used to be. Maybe they are there I will have to take a ride down and look.

clhcpaca , I would mention on your reservation that you have trouble walking because of a medical condition. Jamaica would be across the lake but it wouldn't be a bad walk.

When you check in tell them that you have a continuing stay. Mention that you would like to stay in that room for your entire stay.

Thanks Safetymom for the information. I would love to stay in Martinique again, but not sure that I want to pay the extra money for 14 days.

I will just have my travel agent call in the info about my medical condition and hopefully it will come out okay.

A Newbie wants to know:

1): Can you see the Epcot giant golf ball (sphere) from some place(s) on CBR property?

2): Is it possible to walk from CBR to Pop Century? I would like to go to Pop just to check out the theming; do not know the best way to get there...

(I have heard that there is no such thing as a stupid question, but I keep trying!!)

I just wanted to bump this to see if anyone knows the answers to these questions! Thanks!

If we traveled by car, how long does it take to get the Magic Kingdom from CBR?
We have reservations at Cinderella's Round Table for breakfast at 9:25 and I want to make sure to get there in time for that.

Do they allow infants to be in a baby floaties in the pools?

Are water wings allowed for bigger kids that can't swim? If not, can you rent a life jacket there and how much is it?

Can they wear lifejackets on the water slide?

I think that's it for now! We are so excited, this will be our first trip as a family! I haven't been since I was in 8th grade, I feel like a kid again!:earsgirl:
:D

They do have life jackets at the pool that you could use. Water wings are allowed in the pool also.

As far as driving to MK I would allow at least 45 mins. since you need to take transportation from the parking lot to the TTC., then over to the park on the monorail or boat, then through the turnstiles.

JrsyDebs, yes you can see Spaceship Earth from CBR. You can watch the fireworks from different locations at CBR. The best place to see them is on the beach in Martinique. When the lights go out on Spaceship Earth you know the fireworks are about to start.

I suppose you could walk to Pop from CBR. Not exactly sure how you would do it.

Hi,

My sister is going to the CBR in August. She was there 2 years ago (standard room) and requested Martinique building 26 and was lucky enough to get it. This year she requested the same location. The CM put the information on her reservation - she has a standard room. She called back to confirm her reservation and another CM told her that she can't get Martinique 26 because she needs to pay extra for that. She called the CBR directly and they told her that Martinique doesn't cost extra - They just charge more for water view vs standard view. She is confused now. What's the real story?

Martinique and Trinidad North are both preferred locations costing extra nightly. This is in addition to requesting a water view location. This started in Jan.

If your relative wants to be in Martinique she will need to pay extra for the building location. Water view isn't worth it but staying in a preferred location is.

You could make a request but I doubt it would be granted.

I will be arriving at CBR on Saturday afternoon. This is our first visit to Florida. I have been trying to 'phone the resort during the last 24 hours without success. I get a rapid beeping tone followed by the line going dead. Just wondered if anyone knew why? The number I am dialing is (from the UK) 001 407 934 3400. I have tried dialing several times.

Any advice or help would be appreciated!

Thanks for the info safetymom! I will pass the word to my sister. I know that money is tight for them, but she really wants to be close to the food court - she loved Martinique last time. I wonder what she would do? If it were me, I would pay the extra to stay where I wanted.

THere is a CM tunnel between Pop and CBR.

Guests can not walk between the two. It is not safe.

I have a question  I booked the Dream Maker package on line & asked for a preferred room at the CBR. Does this mean I will most likely get a room at Martinique or Trinidad North? I hope so because thats what I wanted!

2BoysMum&Dad, if you are trying to contact the resort with your requests I would suggest just calling Central Reservations and adding your requests that way.

SnowWhiteIsDreaming, if she doesn't want to pay extra then I would suggest Jamaica. It is across the lake from the food court. That would be the next closest location.

deedeew80, did you pay extra for the preferred location? I would call WDW to see exactly what you booked and paid for.

Back about 43 pages I read that CBR now has coffeemakers in the rooms?? Is this a fact???

If so, I am one happy planner!
