Caribbean Beach Resort FAQ

I don't think they allow them in the room. There is a microwave in the food court that you are free to use. That way you keep the food mess out of your room along with any odors.

Thanks Safetymom for your fast reply - think I"ll pass on the microwave. A fridge is much more of a priority for the trip.

I do have another question I hope you don't mind my asking: We have a PS at Chef Mickey's at 930am on Sunday, August 1st. Should we take our rental to the Contemporary and then move the car later to the MK lot? Or should we take the MK shuttle from the Carribean to MK and then get on the monorail? It's my first time at Chef Mickeys' - we are celebrating my daughter's 8th birthday and I don't want to chance being late.

Also, do you know if the CRB will do anything special if I order something and have it sent to the room for my daughter's birthday?

Sorry for all the questions!!

I would take the car to the parking lot of MK and then take the monorail to the Contemporary. At 9:30 probably only the resort monorail will be running. I would allow at least 1 hr. to get to the hotel.

WDW always tried to help out with special requests but it would depend on what you are trying to do for the birthday. Just don't count on them doing something special and you will be fine. Lots of people are celebrating something special at WDW and they will do their best but can't always do what you want.

If it requires something being put in the room it shouldn't be a problem unless you want it when you check in. Then you should wait until after you are in the room.

You will have a wonderful time at CBR.

IMHO I would bus it to the CR and then walk or monorail to MK.
That is if you are like lotsa folk who like to leave transportation to Disney and not touch a car from the day u get there till the day u leave.

Its really not that diffucult.
830ish grab a bus. Since the last time we went last aug there were breakfast buses, we called them, that ran very early and say bring you to the CR or where your breakfast was before a park opened. One that we got on once said he had been running since like 6am we caught the bus for 7. I think it was an 8am PS we had.

We are staying at the CBR from 10/1/04-10/8/04 and I had several questions, if someone could help me I would so appreciate it!:)

If we traveled by car, how long does it take to get the Magic Kingdom from CBR?
We have reservations at Cinderella's Round Table for breakfast at 9:25 and I want to make sure to get there in time for that.

Do they allow infants to be in a baby floaties in the pools?

Are water wings allowed for bigger kids that can't swim? If not, can you rent a life jacket there and how much is it?

Can they wear lifejackets on the water slide?

I think that's it for now! We are so excited, this will be our first trip as a family! I haven't been since I was in 8th grade, I feel like a kid again!:earsgirl:

Thanks Safetymom and llrain, I appreciate your input and advice. Sounds like we should leave the rental car at the resort and bus it to either CR or MK, which we will do.

For my daughter's birthday I'm thinking of finding something at MK and then having it sent to the resort and maybe they can slip it into the room while we are out. I have a Disney Princess tshirt with her name and birthday on it for her to wear, and I understand we can get a Birthday Button at MK too. I'm tyring to figure out some way to have a cake on her birthday too.

dkal95 - We'll be there the same time as you! We're staying at CBR from 9/29 - 10/8! It's our first time as a family too! Me and DH were at CBR back in 95, but that was pre-kids. We are sooooo anxious! Look for us! We'll be the ones with lime green mickey's on our backpacks!

FYI... we got back in May. After my dd (4) left her purse at Downtown Disney, I left her with big sister and headed to the buses. Well before 9 am.. I asked the bus driver how early they started and he said always early enough to get to a breakfast ps. When he dropped me off at Downtown, hardly anyone was going there, I noticed lots of other buses coming in also. After I got my dd's purse, I went back and sat on the benches. I waited a while, and it seemed no other CBR bus was headed back to CBR yet. Along came a "Special" bus. I asked if he was there for me and he laughed and said 'honey, I will take you anywhere you need to go...." He was so kind and as I was the only one on the bus he told me, their policy is to get any WDW guest to where they are going. I was very impressed.

Again, we parked hopped, and had dinner at Chef Mickeys. I called the transportation # from our room at CBR and she told me the quickest way to get there, which bus/park transportation to use and was very efficient. With breakfast ressies at 9:30, you can easily jump a bus at CBR, go to MK, ride the monorail and be there in plenty of time...

Hope this helps/encourages some of you going soon...and always feel free to call the transportation line from your room...they are always willing to help!

Happy trips!:wave2:

I have not seen information on this topic/question:

Is swimming allowed in the lake at CBR? I know each section has its own beach, but in the pictures that I have seen, I do not recall seeing anyone swimming in the lake. Is it safe? Is the lake just for boating?

Lake swimming is not allowed at all in any of the lakes of WDW anymore. This is due to water quality issues and some organisms that are indigenous to the area.

Swimming is not permitted at any of the beaches at CBR, same as all the lakes at WDW

Sullins5 - thanks for your input. It sounds like it will be a very simple task to get to Chef Mickey's. Glad to hear that the buses at the CBR are so reliable.

I have a NEW QUESTION ...........I booked my reservation before reading this entire thread in detail and see that paying for a "Water View" was not a great idea. However, I did this! Now my question is - can I use that extra $$ I paid toward a "preferred building". Should I call the resort about 4 days prior to my arrival and ask? Or should this request be done in person when I get there?

Thanks!!

Getting excited, it's getting really, really close to our trip!:Pinkbounc

I would call now and have the reservation switched to a preferred location. Those rooms could fill up.

I am going on my wish trip at the end of this month. My wish foundation's documents showed we are staying at the CBR in a quad room? What is this exactly?

We are a family of 4 (I'm 18, my brother is 22 (TALL), my mom and dad are in their 40's). Would this quad room fit us all and be enough room?

Also, since I have mobility and leg function restrictions, can I ask for a bath seat, commode, handheld shower even if it's not an accessible room? i told my wish coordinator this info but we want to call ahead to CBR and make sure.

Any info is appreciated!

I think they are referring to the number of people in the room. The rooms at CBR sleep 4 so you shouldn't have a problem.

I would make sure that central reservations has your room requests in your reservation. In your case since it is for medical reasons I would also call CBR several days in advance.

You will love it at CBR.

Thanks for the info! :)

How is the room set-up -- bed sizes, how many for a quad room, etc? Any pictures?

If you get the planning DVD, you can check out the beasic room layout of every room as well.

Which village and building are closest to the initial bus stop that comes into the resort to take you to the theme parks?

Thanks!!
