since i just got back from CBR with a friend for our girls week, my parents were asking all about the trip..they decided to take a trip with myself, brother , and we can each bring a friend...we may stay at cbr again! ....
i have a quick question..how much more are the preferred buildings? my mom has a bad back and would be easier on her to be closer

Ten dollars per night extra for the preffered buildings.

Just got back Saturday....What a trip!

We had room 4417, wound up being a corner room, 2 double beds, and was perfect! We were close to the walkover bridge, pool, and bus pick-up! Just loved it...

Saw where someone asked about the mailable coconuts - yes they had plenty of them $14.00 each plus mailing fee....The parrot cay island was NOT bird 'poop' infested as previously mentioned on another thread, but was precious with lots of 'baby bunnies' everywhere! What a treat!

The crowds were normal, buses pretty much on target (once or twice a little late) and the food court was busy, but tolerable!

The big pool was crowded but managable, and the individual pools were not crowded at all.

We had a blast!!!!:hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

The sad part is that it's over:( :( ....but hey, it gives us another trip to plan!!!

Gotta change the counter now....bye!:wave2:

I would suggest just calling central reservations and having them add your requests to your reservation.

More and more resorts are ignoring the faxes. You can also make any requests at checkin.

i just love hearing all the wonderful things people have to say about CBR when they come back, makes me so excited to get there! so everyone keep posting lol i have a long way to go yet, 95 days and counting.

keep up with the good reviews!!!

According to the AllEar's newsletter:

At the Caribbean Beach Resort, all preferred location and king bedrooms have been designated "nonsmoking."

I guess this has already a done deal. Great for all the nons but no so for smokers. TN 31 was not only preferred but smoking as well. We are there soon and I requested TN 31. We don't normally smoke in the room but I do enjoy sitting in the courtyard and having a morning cig and a cup of coffee. I don't know that I would feel comfortable doing that in a non smoking area. According to my Passporter (2002) that would only leave Aruba 51 as the only smoking building, unless they are going to change others.

I have the map they give you at check in at CBR on my website. Follow the link below.

Does anyone know how far of a walk it is from Aruba or Jamaica to the Old Port Towne? I see you can go over a bridge...Thanks :wave2:

We have stayed as far away as building 42 in Jamaica and it only took us about 5 minutes to walk to OPR.

If we were to stay in Martinique, I see that these are preferred rooms.

With coming from the UK, if we ask the TA to request rooms in these two blocks, would we still need to pay the extra charge?

TIA

Pete

You could put in a request but if it is a busy time of the year I doubt it would be granted. If you want that location pay the extra money. It is well worth it. I don't recommend water view at CBR but I think preferred is great.

We just got back from a week at CBR where we stayed in Jamaica 45. It took about 3-4 minutes to walk to OPR. I really don't think it took much longer than when we were in Martinique 25 last year. Maybe a minute more? I really liked Jamaica better. The walk over the bridge is so pretty. I would not pay extra just to knock a minute off my walk time.

I was going to ask what the best "village" would be at CB that is not a preferred, but I see a lot of good comments about Jamaica. Is that what most would say is the next best area to stay in? And also when would you all recommend I should make my reservations for going next June? I don't want to make them to early and find out we will have tons of snow days make ups at my school then have to miss my graduation, but I don't want to make them too late and then no rooms will be available, since June is a very busy time of year.

Thanks! :teeth: :sunny:

Hi andi b!

As you probably read already, we just got back. Stayed in bldg. 44 and loved it. Right near the pool, the beach, the laundry facilities, the walk-over. Only takes a couple of minutes to go over and we just loved it. Actually saw bunnies everyday on Parrot Cay. The moms were even feeding the babies and my kids could watch. We just loved it. Once you 'cross' the bridge, you almost feel like you've hit another part of the 'world'- being very busy at the pool, and bar area. So for us, it was a little like a refuge and so nice and peaceful walking across to Jamaica. I might add also that we've also stayed at Aruba and it was not too far either. The landscaping and surroundings are so nice, we always enjoy it!'

Hope this helps a little:wave: !

IMO Jamaica has the prettiest color scheme and architectural details, and I thought the trip across the bridge was a pleasant stroll. I'd request that island next time I stay there.::MinnieMo ::MickeyMo

I"ve stayed in Jamaica, but am requesting Aruba for our upcoming trip. Loved the walk in the mornings! There is a playground just outside Jamaica and as this is to be a "Romantic Getaway", I wanted optimal quiet. Hope this helps and good luck :)
