Caribbean Beach Resort FAQ

Has anyone tried to get a rollaway for a 5th person in a room at the CBR?

I realize that the info given about the resort says that the room is for 4 persons and a crib child under a certain age, however, we really want to stay at the resort and we have 5. No way can we afford two rooms.

CBR does not allow 5 to a room.
Have you thought about 2 rooms at All Stars or Pop Century?
That might be your best bet.

No I haven't, but do those two resorts have the "Disney" feel and how close are they to MK? Shuttle service?

I have just received a confirmation for a quote from the Caribbean Beach resort that says I can get a rollaway for $15 a night.

CBR will enforce the 4 + infant rule, even with a rollaway.

You may need to stay at one of the Port Orleans resorts, they have rooms that sleep 5, because the rooms have a trundle bed.

That trundle will not be large enough for my 16 year old.

I have been doing some research on the Pop Century that Cindyfan recommended and it sounds like the way to go. Anyone know if I can get a AAA discount there? If so, I can get two rooms for about $85 each .

We were at CBR April 6-13. It was our first experience staying at a WDW Resort and we were very happy with it. We were at Trinidad South, a corner room upstairs. Quite a walk to the Food Court, so we drove it (!) in the AM for breakfast. The Food Court was fine-quite an assortment, could pick up from different locations and pay all at once. Busses to parks were fine from the resort-very little waiting. The only time we used the car was to drive to the Food Court. In reality, we could have walked it. We had rain showers 1 morning. We had such a good time that we are working on becoming DVC members-we've got the bug!:earsgirl: :earsboy:

Since we can't put 5 in the CBR room, my husband said to go ahead and book two rooms at the POP Century. I am really going to miss the Caribbean though.:(

Thanks so much cindyfan for the recommendation of two rooms. I never would have thought of that and we are really excited as I booked today.

I'd like to request Aruba.

Can anyone tell me what Bldg to ask for? When looking at the resort map I'm deciding on either #51 or #52 to request for our location.

i just stayed at CBR from may 13-19...we were in jamaica building 45...room 4542...i absolutely loved it...im hoping to stay there again next time we go...

What building numbers and rooms at Jamaica are standard views of a garden, courtyard or grounds. Just not a water view.

Blueeyes101817- Welcome back. I'm glad you loved the CBR. It is one of my favorites and we hope to return there real soon.

Woohoo, my flight leaves in a little over 9 hours. Just packing now :-)

I have a question I'm hoping someone can answer...

According to the map on safetymom's site there is a bridge/walkway near Jamaica Bldg.45 and extend over to an island...

What is this island and can you continue over to the other side near OPR?

Thanks in advance,
Lisa

the bridge is a walkway over to OPR, it is a nice shortcut. The island has Bamboo trees and other nice flowering plants It also has several paths around, some with roofed gliding benches so you can sit and overlook the water. Very tropical. And building 45 is nice and close to both the busses and OPR. We just got back and were in room 4540 right near the stairs to the bridge.

Thanks so much for your answer mickeymule! Good to know!

Lisa

What a wonderful thread. Took me 3 days to read it all, just now finished it. Made a ressie for the family for Jan. 1, 2005 for 4 nights. No discounts available yet, but I feel confident one will come up later. Used the small world vacations site, Susie was very helpful. We can't wait, stayed at ASMo last year, feel this will make our next trip even better. No new questions at this time, feel like every one I had was answered previously in this thread. What a way to start the new year! :earsboy: :earsgirl: :earsboy: :earsboy:
