Caribbean Beach Resort FAQ

Safetymom - I have been looking at your map of the resort which has numbers next to groups of buildings. Looks like a group of three or four will have a two digit number. Is there a way of specifying a particular building (for example) nearest to a playground or bus stop or whatever?

Looks like a group of buildings has the number "45" near to the bridge at Jamaica which I like the look of. Am I interpreting the map correctly?

Many thanks.

Zoe

You could ask to be near a playground. Just say I would like to be near the playground in building ...

Realize that is only a request but they will do their best to get you your room location.

We didn't have to pay extra for the water view we got lucky. Room numbers start with your building number. We had rooms 4255 & 4256 and were in building 42 on the second floor. We had a corner room with wrap around windows. The rooms seemed soundproof. The only time we really heard people was when they were passing our room. I liked the top floor. The playground and beach were about 150 feet from our building. There is alot of walking involved around the resort, but well worth it. The grounds are beautiful. I did not feel that we were too far from Old Port Royale(Center Town) We liked Jamaica area we were in. We
also like the grab and go type eateries. They even delivered pizza to our room one night. Hope some of this info. helps. Connie

Yes they still have the cocanut postcards. I believe there like 12 or 14 + tax. We should have gotten one. :teeth:

The painted coconuts that you can ship Priority are looking a little ragged unless they got a new shipment.

safetymom - hope you don't mind a few more detailed questions!:)

We went to CBR in 2001...rented the little 'bikes' (can't remember their real names) that sat 4 or 5 that you all have to paddle. Do they still have those? And the boats that you can rent? And do you have to call ahead before you go to book them? It seems like we tried on several occasions, and they were booked, but I know we got the 'surreys?' on another occasion. Any idea when to reserve and how much they all cost? Just looking ahead this time!

Also, we asked for a room in Jamaica, and I do notice alot of people asking for a 'corner' room....are all of those only king beds?
And I saw somewhere on another thread where people were bringing back past refillable mugs....are you really allowed to do that? We did not bring ours back in 2001, but bought new again, and unless am told otherwise, would assume they rather you buy again. Am I correct or does it matter?

Thanks for any update ...we are sooooooooo excited and ready!
Also, can't wait to see the refurbishing!

::MinnieMo Thanks!

chriswee, I have pictures of the different villages on my web site. Look under new pictures.

sullins5, yes they still have the surrey bikes. As far as I know you don't need to make reservations for the boats.

We have had corner rooms with two double beds. We didn't really care for the extra window because we felt like we were living in a fishbowl with everyone looking in the room. :) Also didn't like to keep the drapes open so guests could see the computer in the room.

The mugs now state that they are good for the length of stay when you purchased them. It is also posted above the beverage bar. I have pictures of the mugs and sign on my web site. Of course others will tell you differently but that is what the mugs and signs say now. Also there is a sign in your room with that message.

The big difference in the resort from when you were there is the central checkout in OPR and the new location of the restaurant.

We are coming to the CBR May 3-7. If I request a room in Martinique will I have to pay for the upgrade??
Do they give free upgrades if available????

hi,sorry if this question has been asked before, have looked through but couldnt find an answer, dh thinks that he read some where that you can walk to disneys marketplace from cbr, we really wanted to stay close to downtown disney but the port orleans is fully booked for when we are going, this would be a great alternative if this is indeed possible, thanks for any advice susie

Martinique is a preferred location. You may get lucky but if it is a busy time of year I doubt it. I think it is worth paying extra for that location.

Susie2, no way to walk to DTD. That would be a long walk.

Thanks safetymom:wave: !

I knew you would know the prices and whatifs/whereabouts of all the bike/boat info.....and it really helped! We may do the captains plan when we get there, depending on what 'bikes' the kids want to do....we'll decide when we get there since its not like ps dining and we can reserve it when we do arrive.!Thanks so much....looked at your dining pictures, mug picts, makes our anticipation even greater:hyper: :hyper: :hyper: !

Thanks again!

I'm planning to stay at CBR during the peak Spring Break time next year.

We will be requesting a refrigerator to store breakfast, snacks, and beverages in our room (eliminating the need to go to OPR regularly, and getting us to the parks as early as possible). Most lunches and dinners will be eaten at the parks or other resorts.

I'm guessing we'll only venture to the main pool twice or so during the week. (The quiet pools seem more relaxing to me, and I think it will be easier to keep an eye on my kids - ages 6 and 4).

We plan on using our car to get everywhere (except MK - we'll use the bus) so I don't really care about the order of bus stops.

I don't want tons of people walking by all hours of the day and night.

Based on what I've been reading, I'm actually one of the few people who may want to request Trinidad South. Am I right? If I do request it, I'm guessing I shouldn't have a problem being assigned a room there.

If Trinidad South is for me, what building should I request? I prefer to be close to the quiet pool, but far away from the main road and bus stop.

As a side question, are any of the Trinidad South buildings COMPLETELY non-smoking? That would be a bonus feature, but not necessary.

I don't think you will have a problem requestion Trinidad South. It is beautiful back there. It seems like its own private resort. Not sure about the non smoking buildings.

Have you looked on the map on my website for building locations?

We will be staying at CBR from May 15-22. We are planning on doing early entry (extra magic hour) at Epcot and at Animal Kingdom. If the park officially opens at 9 a.m. then early entry would began at about 8:00 a.m. So, what time should we be at the bus stops in order to get there before the park opens? Would 7 a.m. be about right?

7:00 is a good time to be at the bus stop to wait. I wouldn't be any later than 7:15

Just wanted to add my vote for the beauty, peacefulness and fun of CBR. Family consists of DH, DS-11 and DD - 16.

Stayed in Jamaca 41 - nearest the road on the way to Trinidad - great for viewing fireworks at Epcot one night.

I saw a lot of posts complaining about the walking, but I didn't find it a problem - the scenery is so nice, the birds sing so beautifully. Jamaca 45 would have been closer - it's the closest to the bridge, but we loved our location.

DS loved the central pool, DD loved the hammocks and made good use of them. DH and I loved the free coffee refill mugs and fast food court.

We rented Pal Mickey at the store, and easily returned it on days we weren't going to a Disney park.

Buses were just fine. ONly had a few waits longer than 15 minutes. And at least the bus only travels around CBR. I noticed that others go to multiple resorts.

I highly recommend CBR.
