I'm sure that somewhere in these 35 pages there must have been a post about this, but I couldn't read EVERY page. LOL

Can I use mugs from another resort at CBR? I have my old Dixie Landings mugs I paid for about 2 years back.

No you can't use mugs from another resort at CBR. They are only for the resort where you purchased them.

purplebelle, you pay extra for a king bed room so I wouldn't worry about them assigning you one. Realize that your requests are just that though for room location and you will have a great time. I will be checking into CBR in a few hours.

I just wanted to say that I'm really glad I found this board and this thread. It has helped me confident in my choice to stay at CBR.

I've never stayed at CBR before, and after reading all these posts, I'm glad I chose it!

I think the reason the CM said not to worry about a king bed might have been because that choice was no longer available for when you are staying there or under your package deal. Though, it sounds as if that CM could have been nicer about it. I know my parents really wanted a stadard room when we were there in July; but when they booked the vacation they had no standard rooms available for our length of stay. This proved to be true when we checked in. Don't worry about not getting a room with double beds, as SafetyMom said it won't be a problem for you as that is what you requested.

I hope you enjoy your stay at CBR as much as we have. December will be our third time staying there. We have been working our way around the Islands. First stay in 1995 we were in Barbados and in July we stayed in Aruba. This trip we hope to get Jamaica. Will see what we get.

I do have a question for you. How do you go about getting a King bed with a water view? They only give you a choice of water view or king beds when booking online. Since you pay the same amount for a room with a water view as you do for a room with a king bed does it cost even to get both? I don't expect to get more than what I paid for; which is why I wonder if it is more to have both.

Soltwisch Family - what is your fave island to stay at CBR? I haven't requested a certain room. I think if I do, it will just be when we get there. I imagine that since we're going off peak it won't be too crowded.

To me it didn't really matter. In Barbados it was just a straight walk over to the food court along the pathways and Aruba we had to cross over the bridge. We really didn't mind the walks to the food court from either of the Islands.

We want to try to get Jamaica this time as they have a childrens play area on their beach. It is also DD's favorite color of Yellow for the buildings. Oh what we wouldn't do for our two year old!

I don't really think there is a bad place to be. They have an internal shuttle if you don't want to walk as far. We have also been blessed with good bus service. Just note that they stop at all the islands.

They don't have the mug police but the new mugs do have printed right on them, Free refills until the end of your stay. Also states on mug Refillable only at location purchased.

Soltwisch Family, I am not sure how you get both a water view and king bed.

CBR was fun today. They had cookie decorating, they had a pumpkin carving contest. They also did trick or treating in Old Port Royale inside and out.

Many many people were dressed in costumes. Downtown Disney was packed with people in their costumes trick or treating at the shops.

Epcot was not crowded. We did Mission Space too. It was fun but don't eat breakfast first or you could have problems.

How do you find time to keep us all updated while are actually at Disney? I didn't even know WDW had internet connection options. How are the crowds right now? Enjoy your trip!

purplebelle, I never go anywhere without my laptop. Crowds are not bad. We did Epcot for Food and Wine yesterday. Lines were not long for rides. Today is Magic Kingdom.

I'm so jealous! You're off in WDW having a great time and I'm stuck here in lousy ol' Maine! I don't need to hope that you're have a good time, we all know you are!

Anyway . . .

If you have a chance, can you find out if ALL of Martinique will be preferred in January or just the closer rooms. I would definitely not be happy if we pay for a preferred room and get one of the further away rooms.

Preferred buildings at CBR in 2004

We asked this evening at the front desk at CBR what the preferred buildings will be at CBR in 2004.

In Martinique it will be buildings 24, 25, 26. In Trinidad North it will be 31,32,33.

The additional charge will be $10 per night. We forgot to ask if that was on top of the waterview or king bed charge. We will check on that.

A question about the in room coffee pots....are they the 4 cup type that you usually see in hotel rooms? DH is quite a "coffee snob", so we will be bringing our own freshly ground coffee. I want to be sure we have the right kind of coffee filters. I bought the small flat bottom type filters; is this the right kind? (I'm just glad he isn't insisting on bringing the beans and a grinder )

If you can Safety Mom, here's another question - can you find out details about how the "family plan" works at the marina.
How many people does it include?
Can one family person "purchase it, then others use it in the group so long as we don't go over the set amount of users at one time?
Does it include children?

Our family has 3 adults staying 9 nights and 2 adults with 2 kids, (4yo and a 1.5 yo) staying 4 of those night. We want to know if the adults are interchangable to take the kid(s) out and then when 2 of the adults and 2 kids leave, the other 3 adults would use the plan for the rest of the week.

Also, a general question for anyone - we are getting a preferred room, so we won't be too far from the marina. Would it be crazy of me to think of renting a bike to get to the Customs House instead of waiting for the bus?
