I know it's probably in here somewhere but I have to be at work in a little while and I don't have the time to look. But how do you request a specific building? I know which building I want but just don't know how to go about requesting.

I will be there 6/9-6/13 and I faxed down a request yesterday(6/4). I was just requesting something close to the main pool and food courts and non smoking so I hope that they can find something. The fax number I used was 407-934-3288. Good Luck!

Safetymom,
I am interested on how far the pool & food court are from trinidad 31? also is seems like I heard conflicting reports on where the buses stop 1st. Would it be worth it to walk to the main bus area near the food court or at the martinique?
:bounce:
thanks for the info.

We stayed at Trinidad North 31 room 3138 second floor in March.
It is right next to OPR where everything is. IMO 31 is the best bldg in Trinidad North since it is the closest. Trinidad North is also in the middle of the bus run. It depends on what entrance the bus uses as to which is the first stop. If you went with Martinique for a smoking room you will be in the farthest bldg from OPR. Go with North 31.

Hello, everyone! :)

I will be staying at CBR in two weeks. Is there any information that anyone would like for me to check?

I'd be happy to report as soon as I return. :p

If you could get a picture of the new mugs at CBR it would be appreciated. If you get one could you send it to me and I will post on my web site for others?

Hi,
This might seem like a silly question, but I read somewhere that the CBR doesn't have elevators. Is that true and how many floors do the building have? I don't mind walking up the stairs, just worried about getting luggage up. I've never stayed at a Disney resort and trying to decide which one to stay at.

Thanks

CBR does not have elevators. It is only 2 stories. You can have a bell man help you with your luggage. POR is the same way.

The playgrounds are marked on the resort map. There are three: one in Jamaica near the bridge, one in Trinidad South, and one between Martinique and Barbados. The one on Parrot Cay Island is gone.

That's a cool map! I went to that site and could not find out how to see maps of the various resorts. Any hints?

I also wondered if anyone does the bike and boat rentals. We did both a long time ago and loved it!

Actually there are elevators and a third floor in the Magnolia Bend Mansions at POR. =0)

We are staying at CBR for the 1st time in Aug. sshhh, it's a b-day surprise for DS who'll be 9;) anyway, I am getting REALLY nervous about staying here! We had ASMO, which I thought would be perfect since we loved ASMU, but DH thought trying a mod at the FTP price would be better. I can see the point in that, but now I keep seeing negative transp. posts, pool too small etc., we really liked the food court options at ASMU, and thought CBR would be the same... Our days are 8/6-8/13...I requested Trinidad N. or Martinigue for closeness, but you know it is not guaranteed, where as I has the preffered room at ASMO...But since I gave up that ressie...CBR it is..help!

You will have a great time at CBR. Our whole group of family loves CBR. I hate to tell you how many times we have gone to CBR. I have also stayed at ASMusic and Port Orleans Riverside and they were nice but we feel at home with CBR.

I truly feel like I have escaped when I stay there. Just keep in mind more people take the time to write when they don't like something than the rest of us that have a wonderful time at CBR.

The rooms are bright and cheery and clean, the food court is great, you can watch the Epcot fireworks from the beach. You can escape to Parrot Cay and get a wonderful view of the lake, lighthouse, beaches. It truly is a wonderful resort.

Why not visit my pictures of CBR? That should help you relax that you made the right choice.

I stayed in Jamaica and it wasn't too far of a walk to the food court and main pool... it was about 5-10 minutes (depending on how fast you walked). If you don't like the village where they've put you, you can always ask to change :) CBR is a great resort, I think you'll have a great time there!

Finfan, if you love Jimmy Buffet, you'll LOVE CBR. If you don't mind walking a little bit more, change your request to Aruba or Jamaica. They are across the cay, but you'll probably be more likely to get them. I faxed a request for Aruba and got it in May. We don't do pools much (usually go off-season), but we found the quiet pools to be perfect for a dip.

Oh I know I will like the themeing, and DD loves the tropics, I am just worried about DS.....I think he will like the pirate/fort theming of the pool, but after the size of the pool at ASMU and we have also stayed at the CR, I hope he won't be wishing he was at ASMO with all those Toy Story guys...listen to me...the kid is gonna get to go to WDW and I'm worried about if he'll be happy:rolleyes: What's wrong with that statement?:p I also hope that the busses are running smoothly. I think the resort will be pretty crowded still at that time, and I see people are now jumping back over to POR since it has not closed...just worries me a little. I think I would rather be closer to the food court as I am always the breakfast gopher while they all sleep in, the shorter to carry all that food the better!

FinFan, even when the resort is at capacity it won't feel crowded. You will relax when you get into the tropical theming.

As far as kids with 3 of my own teenagers, sometimes no matter what you do your kids will be in a mood. Just let them experience the resort and I am sure they will find lots of things that they like.
My kids never cared about how big the pool was just that there was water, slide, and they could have fun.

Even if you have to do some walking it is so beautiful at CBR you lose track of time.

As they say, " Don't worry, be happy. "

As far as the buses go, we had great luck when we were there 6/1-6/7. We were in Martinique and we were the first stop every morning. Of course, we were the last stop at night but it was no big deal. We also never waited more than 10 minutes for a bus, and that was a morning when we arrived at the bus stop just after our MK bus had left. Most waits were about five minutes.

You know, I was told that the vast majority of guests know nothing about making requests or which islands are preferable, so when you make a request you have very good chance of getting it, especially if it's just for a particular island.

I cannot imagine anyone not loving CBR. Ours was the best hotel experience we've had anywhere. In fact, we're going back the same week next year!

does cbr still offer minibars and safes in all rooms. we went back in 98' and it had both. i notice when i look at room descriptions they never have them listed:p
