16 days to CBR!! :)

Can someone remind me what the fridge situation is there? How does that work, does every room come with one, do you have to rent it or request one, if so for how much? I have a preferred room booked if that matters.

Fridges are standard in all CBR rooms. No extra charge and no need to request.

Oh good, I booked ages ago, and I probably took this into account when I chose CBR, but all I could remember was something about renting which probably applied to the value resorts. Cool. ;)

We'll have two rooms between us and the parents, so plenty of room for snacks. I am going to try my best to not have to buy any non-superbly-interesting-novelty snacks or drinks at the resorts.

:worship: :worship: THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I will order from here and have delivered. :worship: :worship:

You will be so glad that you did. We ordered 2 cases of water and we took some with us each day into the park. It was great. That way we only had to use our snack credits for yummy things.

To another post:
We were there Oct 30-Nov 5th, and CBR had individual juice boxes in the cold cases of one of the food stands.

Also if you are on the deluxe meal plan, you get 2 beverages with breakfast. And bottled water can be one or both of your choices. Or you can get a large juice and take it with a sippy cup into the parks.

We had a small cooler that fit into our backpack and we had water or juice with us all the time. It's no problem taking it into the parks.

Have fun!!! I can't wait for our next trip.:dance3:

Here's a friendly suggestion to do things differently ....

Especially when traveling with young kids near bedtime, the last thing I want to do is trust the airlines with all of my necessities. Because of this, no matter where I fly, I always pack for our first 24 hours' needs in our carry-ons (you're allowed one carry-on per ticketed passenger) just in case the AIRLINE delays our luggage.

And because I pack this way, I really have no care when my DME luggage is delivered to me. In fact, when I arrive late, I request that my DME bags be held 'til the next morning so we don't get awakened in the middle of the night.

The last thing I'd want to do is find that the airline delayed one of my bags and I don't have everything I need for my toddler for bedtime and the next morning.

Stopping and waiting at baggage claim will likely delay your arrival at your resort. In the time you're detouring towards baggage claim and waiting there, and then dragging your bags to the DME area, it's quite likely that the bus you COULD have been on has already left for your resort, and you'll have to wait for the next one. To me, with a little one, my top priority is getting that little one to bed ASAP, and if Disney gives me a way to do that (skipping baggage claim) then I'm going to take them up on their offer!

So there it is ... my recommendation for letting DME handle your luggage for you, and calling for it the next morning.

But PLEASE, even if you plan to claim your own luggage, PLEASE pack your carry-ons like I suggested, anyway, just in case the AIRLINE delays your bags.

Have fun!!!:thumbsup2

This is exactly what we did for our trip. And it was wonderful. Our flight didn't arrive until 9:30 pm and I knew we wouldn't get to our room until at least 11 pm. I didn't want to have to worry about our luggage arriving in the middle of the night. So I packed one carryon with everything we would need for the first 24hours. It was great. We were able to go to bed and start getting ready for the next day before our luggage was even delivered. Another carryon had our cameras, reading material for the plane, medicines and snacks. Then my 5 year old carried her backpack with her blanket, stuffed animal and stuff to keep her busy on the plane.

It worked out great. I always carry snacks onto the airplanes. My mom was stuck once for 5 hours on the tarmack with no food or water while waiting for a storm to pass. So I will never get stuck with a child and no food. Bad combo.:cool1:

Staying there in 5.....yes 5 days!!!:cool1:

I have ordered some snacks (fruit and Capri Suns) along w/ 1/2 gallon of milk.

To the CBR vets, does anyone know if I can get a bowl from the food court? I just realized that I ordered the box cereal and NOT the cereal in the ready to eat bowls.

If not, then I will just try to throw two or three in my carryon.

THANKS

I,too, forgot to pack a couple of bowls and spoons when we went this past August. You will need to throw a couple in your carry on unless you don't mind using the water glasses that are in your room.

For those of you who have stayed at CBR before, I am curious about what are your favorite features of this resort.

Pretty Caribbean trees/bushes/flowers, buildings with Caribbean-themed colors, 1.4 mile promenade around Barefoot Bay (the lake), watercraft rentals, white sand beaches with chairs and hammocks, yada yada yada ....

I AM SO FREAKIN' EXCITED!! We've always done values, so we are REALLY looking forward to something a little nicer! 59 DAYS!!!

I too odered cereal boxes and forgot about the bowls. :scared1: I used the cups that are provided in the room for cereal and milk. When you go to the food court, grab some extra utensils.

Have a great time!

We had the basic meal plan.... you also get 2 beverages with breakfast.:)

Can you remember if they had whole milk available in half gallon?

I am almost sure they did.:) We drink 2% all of the time.... I'm trying to remember:rolleyes1 ... I think we had to buy whole milk there instead of the 2% because they didn't have it.

The milk is kind of hard to find.:confused3 When you enter the gift shop.... go all the way to the back of the shop and it is in a cooler in the back left corner.

Have a great trip!!!:wizard:

I'm having a gift basket delivered from WDW Florist the day after we arrive. Does anyone know if CBR will deliver it to our room or will I have to go to the front desk to pick it up?

I'm sure this has been asked and answered like 50 times on this thread, but disboard search suuuucks....

What time does the main pool close at CBR in December (in case its different)?
