I'm not sure when the pirate rooms will be available, but they haven't started them yet, so there are no pictures, only the artist drawing.

I know my boys will love the room, though!

I just called to book our ressies for Dec '09 (I know, soooo far away) & told her we wanted to stay in the pirate rooms, but was sad to hear they hadn't started on them yet. She told me not only have they started on them yet, they have sent pics around to the ressie agents to see what they look like. So........they look almost exactly like the artist rendering. I'm so excited. Anyone headed there soon, please, please, please take a stroll over to Trinidad South & have a peak in the window & snap a few pics for us. It might be the only thing that gets me through until our trip.

Thanks! There are 8 of us, but 2 of them are infants so they told us we don't count as a 'great gathering group' :(

Well pooey, but that's correct information. There has to be 8 paying guests. Infants don't count since they are free. Did you have them link the two reservations as Travel With?

I will try to get over to Trinidad South on our vacation here shortly to see if I can see anything. Not sure how far along they have come, but I'd be more than happy to try to find out. :)

PS: Should we do the not so scary party? My dd is 7.

So, did you decide to go ahead & do it? I personally think it would be worth making the trip just for the party. It is so worth the money. Not too scary either (maybe the haunted mansion). they have a kids dance party & the charaters are dressed like other characters. its wonderful. I so hope you plan on going.

Hello everyone, we are back from an awesome trip to WDW and I have to say that the CBR did not impress. Don't get me wrong, the grounds were nice, the new pool was fine, room was o.k. Here's the nasty series of events that kinda soured the the whole Caribbean experience: 1st night, checked in at 3:30 pm, did not receive our luggage until 11:30 pm(not the resorts fault) I was told that there was a huge luggage problem at airport and that bell services received a large amount of luggage all at once that had to be delivered. Also, 1st night, we had some groceries that were delivered and were being stored in bell services while we were away from the room. I could not reach anyone from bell services to have the groceries delivered to our room. I was told by the front desk to go to the customs house and get the items myself and bring them to my room myself(we were in Trinidad South). This ate up a good portion of the evening. Finally, at 1:00 am the next day, we are all settled with our luggage and groceries. 2nd day: we return from a day at the parks late(about 10:15 pm)
We decided to stop by the food court to p/u a CHEESE pizza to bring back to the room. We get to the room, open the box, and it's a pepperoni pizza. Now, I know it would have been a smart thing to do to open the box before you leave the food court, but the box and ticket were both labeled cheese(we were tired and just wanted to get back to the room). Now we leave the room to go return the pizza. Just as we started walking towards the bus stop, we realized it was now past 11 pm, food court is closed. We go back to the room, put the key in the door, and it won't open. We tried all of our keys and none would open the door. So then we had to get new keys made. It's late, we are still hungry and have to wait for new keys to get into our room. At that point I was furious. I called the front desk and explained all the problems we were having. The manager put us into Martinique #2533, one of those new Nemo rooms. I couldn't care less about the Nemo theme. It was nice to be closer to OPR though. After all that, the resort stay was fine. Nothing to write home about. I don't think I would stay there in the future.
I can't imagine all the problems that must occur during their busy season.:sad2:

Was it the resort itself or just all the stuff that happend while you were there? I had a trip like that when I went to St. Louis, but everything that happend there WAS the hotels fault. Gald the manager decided to upgrade you to a closer room.

If you do you'll be my new best friend. LOL Thank you so much.

Hi all, we came back Friday from a 5 night stay at CBR. It was our first time at this resort and we liked it very much. I took tons of pics, I'll find a place for them on a photo thread soon.

We were meeting another family there, we booked separately through AAA. They checked in a day before us and had requested in their reservation that our rooms be close together (the agent noted our reservation code in the request) and either Jamaica or Aruba. We got rooms right next to each other in Jamaica (4128 + 4129), first floor, and theirs was a corner room too. So we got exactly what we asked for and were very pleased with first floor since we both have stroller age kids.

Barbados building 12 was getting the Nemo treatment while we were there.
Curtain sconces being removed.

The new pool is fabulous! We noticed the bucket on the ship was dumping less volume one day, perhaps they are still determining the right amount of splash? Kids would line up under the awning to get splashed when the bucket was about to dump. There are several kid controlled water sprayers on the ship as well. The new fort slide is great! Just a second or 2 of complete darkness in the middle.

Buses were buses, sometimes quick, sometimes not. We did think being at the Jamaica bus stop was convenient as we often didn't have to make the whole resort loop coming or going.

Mousekeeping was fine, one towel animal upon check-in. Our hairdryer broke the first morning, it had a crack from being dropped and the motor died. I called housekeeping to have it replaced and by the time we got back to the room at the end of the day a new one had been installed. There was also a follow-up voice mail with instructions if the problem had not been corrected.

We ate at the food court for breakfast once and lunch once. The quality of the food was fine, but we would have liked a little more variety particularly at lunch. (Granted most people are in the parks this time of day.)

Overall the resort was beautiful and we really enjoyed our stay. I highly recommend taking a sunrise walk (~7:00am) if you want to get some great pictures. Here are a couple of the new pool.

They haven't started on the pirate rooms yet as far as I can tell. I was just there over the weekend.

Safetymom...I would love to meet you if you're around CBR when we're there! Nov. 12-16th. Thank you again for the wonderful job you do here on DIS!!!

I just booked a trip for Labor Day and was told the Pirate rooms were to open in January. Ummm, guessing the CM was incorrect, but she said they showed them one of the rooms. I went ahead and booked a pirate room for Labor Day 09 so we will see????

This was our first time at this resort and from reading all the info on this board, our expectations were kinda high. I understand that these things can happen at any resort, but they all happened at the one we were staying at. All these events did not make a very good first impression and completely overshadowed any positive feelings towards our stay at the CBR. If we had gone thru all these problems at a different resort, I would have the same opinion of that resort.

We dreaded going back to CBR at the end of a great day at the parks, not knowing if any more problems would arise.

I am sure they have a prototype room for the CM's.

I wonder if the fact that they are changing rooms at trinidad south to pirate rooms will at all effect our request to have a t.s. room this Nov. Are they rehabbing all the rooms at t.s., every one of them? They didn't say anything when I requested, but who knows?

im leaving in 20 days for my 15 day trip! I haven't been to CBR in almost 7 years. IM SO EXCITED, we've been staying at POP latley and We also spent our first 12 years at Poly, We finally realized for the amount of money we're spending compared to the time spent in our room, you could save some cash and stay at a value or moderate. THEY ARE ALL DISNEY so they are all nice. ANY WAY im worried im going to get lost around the CBR. I still get lost at POLY and I've been staying there for EVER and multiple times a year, I don't know whats wrong with me, but I can't seem to grasp directions. RESORTS ONLY, it's werid. I can drive some where once and BAM I got it, but at DISNEY resorts, I get lost!

Oh and what I reallyy wanted to say is im workinng right now it's 4 in the morning and the only thing keeping me alive is the GREAT pictures! I can't wait to get in that poool!

The whole section is being converted.

We checked out 9/24 from TS bldg. 35; I only walked around bldgs. 34, 35 & 36 and saw no work being done. I did not walk all the way around the other 3bldgs. I would think the sort of work being done will be time consuming so not sure when they will be finished the whole section. I was told by Mousekeeping that the floors will be wood instead of carpet. (not sure if real hardwood)
