We won't know how they are handling the pool hours until someone reports back. I have a stay there in a couple of weeks if no one reports back by then.

The quiet pools unless they are doing maintenance are open around the clock.

Thank you! I will be looking for your report back! If nothing else we can use the quite pools after we return from the parks. ;)

Hi CBR fans. DH and I are making our first trip to CBR next month. I just booked a king room yesterday using the fall savings rate WOO HOO! Is it possible to get a king room in a preferred location? Do I call CRO and make that request or just wait until our date gets closer and then fax in a request?

Also, can anyone suggest a romantic location we could request that isn't too far from Old Port Royale?

Thanks for everyone that posted info and pics on this thread. We were sold on POR until one day when I wandered in here and saw all the lovely pics.

Thanks for the photos and updates, Safetymom! I can't wait to show my sons the photos tonight!!!:thumbsup2

We will be there in 3 days, yea!!!!!!!!!!!:woohoo:

So will I! If you are sporting your LGMH, I'll be sure to say hello!

Great news - I was hoping the pool would be open! If I can get a chance to access the internet - I will try to post the times the pool is open!

We are going to be there bright and early September 25th for our pre-cruise stay. If you get there WAY before check-in time, what do we do? We are taking Disney Buses to the resort, so we won't have to lug our bags around, but will we be allowed to use the pools until our room is ready?

We arrived early in August, and the room was not available until around 4:30. We went to a park and came back. They will give you a phone number to call to see when your room is ready. You can call this number from ANY Disney phone. That is any phone that is at a bus stop, shop, eatery or anywhere on the property.

If you are not going to a park, you can pack swim suits in a carry on, and use the pools. You can also use the bus system to check out other resorts at Disney World for future stays, or maybe go to Downtown Disney and do a bit of shoping.

Staying @CBR, you might just want to walk around the grounds and get familiar with the layout, and see the lush scenery that abounds around the resort.

Update on the pool hours:

OPR pool will be open from 10am-10pm and the pool deck will be locked outside of those hours. The quiet pools are technically open from 7am-Midnight, but nobody really checks or kicks anybody out after midnight.

Now, whether or not anyone chooses to believe me on this is up to you. But this is 100% accurate. There is a chance that eventually the pool may open earlier (from 8am-10am) without a lifeguard, but the slide and kiddie area would remain closed until the lifeguards came on at 10am.

Thanks so much for the suggestions :thumbsup2

I was happy to meet Safetymom today. The work she does for this site is way above and beyond...

Unfortunately, Disney has taken the low road as far as night hours for the entire pool complex are concerned.

The new pool is surrounded by wrought iron style fencing. At 10 pm, when the lifeguards go off duty, the gates are locked. No access to anything, including bathrooms.

This should encourage a letter writing campaign, as it appears that as they rehab the rest of the pool complexes, they intend to lock them all up after 10 pm

This has actually encouraged me to stay at CSR, it's really too bad. Hope everyone enjoys the new pool regardless!

From what I read on here there are king rooms in the preferred buildings. I would just call CRO and add a request for one of those buildings.

I'm hoping for our trip that my parents will be put in the same building as us. Right now they are booked for a king and we are booked for a preferred.

We are going to be staying at CBR in a few weeks. My inlaws are joining us on the trip and will be staying off property. Would they be able to come with us to the pool as our guests? Or do you absolutely have to be staying on property?

(I really hope that's an innocent question and not one of those "Dis controversy rip your head off for asking" questions.)

I believe they need to be staying on property, call Disney and ask:)
