What is the official word from the resort on the opening of the pool? I know we are all speculating the opening...

We check in the same day! Let's cross our fingers that it is done. What a tease to have to look at a brand new pool full of water but not be able to use it!

We always go in Dec/Jan so we are so excited to get to finally swim!! So we will be very dissapointed. Also, I convinced our friends to switch from a Value to a Mod!!! I will feel really bad if i made them switch and we will not have a themed pool!

My family and I are spending a week at VBR and we are going to swing by WDW on our way home on Sept. 5 and 6. We have ressies at CBR for those two nights with the plan to switch to PORFQ if the pool rehab wasn't finished. A few weeks ago the rumor was that construction was ahead of schedule and the pool would open in late August. From the sound of things it appears the weather has really held back the opening. Is it safe to assume at this point that it would be best to go ahead and switch the reservations?

The WDW website also still shows four sailboats and bumper boats on the lake, it is rarely updated. Let's just say I have some inside connections

Thanks to everyone for your responses about the resort. We are getting really excited. I'm trying to get a preferred room, but they don't seem to be available. I'll keep trying. So, next question.....I saw where some people actually fax a room request to the resort. Does anyone have the fax number?

SO what do yu connections say about the timelines for the training? When is that scheduled and how long does it take? When is the roof due in?

Training is currently planned for the first week of September, and as soon as that is complete and the CMs are comfortable with opening the pool it will be ready to go.

I had mentioned before that they will be installing a temporary roof until the tiles come in for the final roof. So the roof is only a question of when they can get a break in the rain to put in the temporary one.

Oh that would make me so sad! I will keep my fingers crossed for all of you!

I requested Martinique 24 and wound up with a corner room in the 25 building. It wasn't 100 yards to the food court, and 200 to the bus stop. (2517)

The 25 building is refurbished, but I must say the housekeeping @Disney has gone WAY downhill. I watched all week to see if they would ever remove the cob webs from the light over the table in my room. Never happened.

There was a lot of litter on the grounds, also. I am speaking of plastic bowls, straws, bottle caps and the like.

I do not know who is in charge of keeping the place clean, but the job is NOT being done as it used to at the resorts or the parks. When we went to Soarin (3 times! It is a GREAT ride) it looked like a ghetto on the long INSIDE ramp to the ride. There is a long distance to que up, and only a couple of trash cans along the way. People just dropped their trash where they stood, and left it. I never saw anyone trying to sweep up the mess.

Oh that terrible. Rude people stink.

Thanks for sharing the pictures. I haven't stayed at CBR since 2001, but I was wondering if they just kept the same furniture? It looks very similar to what was in our room in '01.

I don't see the reason for the big deal about the nemo 'themed' room. It's a border and a couple of bedspreads. Hardly the update of the century!

The plan for the pirate themed rooms looks more involved, and I can see the appeal there, but come on I think it's a bit over the top to call it a Nemo 'themed' room when all you're getting is a border and bedsheets.

As many of you guys know, we recently enjoyed our one week long stay at the CBR. It was our third stay at the beautiful resort! As I posted a few pages back, I lost our pictures....over 300 of them! Well, I took my camera to the camera shop today and, after two hours, the guy was able to retrieve all my pictures!

So, I know someone has already posted their pictures of the Nemo room but here are some of mine:

I've got pictures of the safe. I have several shots downloading right now. I'll post those as soon as they are done. My husband takes quite a few meds and I was able to put all his meds., my son's PSP, our portable DVD player and my checkbook in the safe.
