Sandi - thanks so much for the bus info, that's really helpful! :thumbsup2

Less than 6 weeks to go for us, we can't wait for our first stay at the CBR! :woohoo:

I called last night to check on a few things, and had them go ahead and actually request a Nemo room on our reservation. The CM didn't know what I was talking about, so she actually called the resort to find out for sure. When she came back on, she said they were going to be doing one building per week in the Nemo theme, so they should have several buildings done between now and our October vacation, and there was a good chance I could get one. (Of course they couldn't guarantee, etc. etc. Which I totally understand, but at least it's a decent chance.) :thumbsup2

Just thought I'd pass the info along, if it hasn't already been.

I'll be hoping for a free upgrade at check in.:rolleyes1

Back to CBR -- we also have a late arrival next Tuesday. Our plane gets in around 10:00, so it will likely be 11:30 before we get to CBR. We'll have ME for our checked bags. We just want to get to our room, clean up and go to bed so we can start our day early on Wednesday. Can we ask that they hold our bags until the next day and just deliver them when we're gone? Who do we make that request with? The registration desk? Luggage services? ME?

Thanks!

Yes, we did this last year, or at least requested it. They said it was no problem, but we gave them a time frame of an hour or so, or wait until morning. We didn't expect our luggage, but it actually came in less than an hr. Hope this helps.

Managed to snap some cell phone pictures of the pool progress today, I apologize for the quality. Enjoy!

thanks for posting the pics of the pool. we're heading over to the cbr next sunday for 19 nights so fingers crossed we may get to try the new pool. Enjoy the rest of your stay. Maria

Thanks for posting the pics..... Can't wait to go back.... but i have A LONG wait.....

Thank you for taking time-out to take pictures and post them for us!

Two weeks today for us and we'll be there, I'm sure that the pool will be done by looking at the speed at which they have been progressing recently. My kids are just going to love it, we are planning on returning to the CBR most days for a midday break and to freshen up before our evening ADR's so the new pool area will be perfect to spend a couple of hours before moving on back to the parks.

Hi,
We are thinking of booking one of the Pirate rooms for March. I know they will be in Trinidad South. Is there a certain building that would be best?
We want something away from the parking lot, but it doesn't have to be a water view. Also, how far is the walk to the food court? Would you say that it is about a mile away, or is it less than that?
Thanks!

Here's the link to Safetymom's map of CBR from the first post of this thread:

I'd say buildings 35 or 38 would be your best bet to be away from the parking lot; however, there really aren't too many plain parking lot views at CBR, due to the beautiful foliage that grows around the resort.

I haven't personally stayed in Trinidad South, so I don't know how far it is, but I have walked there from Old Port Royale, and I think it took about 10 minutes, so I'm certain it's less than a mile.:thumbsup2

I think walking the entire circle of the resort path is just over a mile, so no where near that from Trinidad South. A good 10/12 minute walk would be about right.

Have fun planning!!

I just requested building 24 for our stay at the end of this month- that is the building that has compleated refurb, correct?
Also TY OP for posting a pic of the pool, looks as if it is coming right along!:goodvibes I do hope it is finished when we get there on the 30th. If not we will still have a enjoyable stay Im sure.:goodvibes

Have they updated the opening date of the pool? I am going 9/5 I hope its open...

They have not updated the opening date of the pool, but the official reopening date remains the last week of August.

We have a trip planned 9/4 - 9/7 and will be staying at CBR. Its our first time at CBR (at any resort other than a Value) and all this talk of "reconstruction" has me worried. Will there be any pools open the weekend we are there?? When is the new pool supposed to open? I heard mid September. Thanks for any info! :)

Thank you for the information. It is helpful to know that it's been handled like this. Only 2 more sleeps . . .

New question: How late is the food court open at CBR?
